The beat of the music coming from Sabrina's Hertfordshire mansion began to vibrate through Chloe's car two blocks away from the house. Cars were already beginning to line the street.
"Shit. She's invited the whole school," Rachel said.
"Go into one of the side streets along here," I suggested to Chloe who turned into the nearest street.
We managed to find a park almost at the end of the street, the car just fitting between two driveways.
"Ew, I don't want to walk all that way in my heels," Rachel groaned as she climbed out of the backseat.
"We're all wearing heels, Rach. Suck it up," I said, closing the car door, adjusting my hair.
"God, I need a drink," Chloe moaned.
"You need to drive remember?" I reminded her.
"I'm not gonna get wasted. Chill out. I just said I needed a drink."
"I want to graduate already!" Rachel exclaims.
"I don't know how to feel about graduation, honestly," I confessed.
"Same," Chloe agreed. "Oh bloody hell, is she asking to get arrested?"
We were standing in Sabrina's driveway and the music was now so loud, I could feel the bass pounding through my entire body.
"Holy shit! Does she want us all to be deaf by the end of the night?" Rachel exclaimed.
"Wouldn't be surprised if that is her plan," I said.
"As much as I don't want to go in, I need a drink. Like now. Let's go please," Chloe begged.
"I am not in the mood to face Sabrina right now," she paused, pouting. "But Matt texted me when we were driving and him and Shane are already in there."
"Shane's here already?" Chloe turned around, blushing. Her and Shane went to the zoo this morning and Chloe had recounted the whole date to Rachel and I in the car. Apparently he was acting all 'adorable' and 'gentlemanly' and they snogged in front of the giraffe enclose and he asked her to be his girlfriend in the middle of the bird aviary whilst the seven-year-old next to them got shat on by a pigeon that somehow managed to get inside the enclosure.
"Ugh. Boyfriend or go home and watch Netflix? Or watch Netflix with my boyfriend? I just want to cuddle not go to this bloody party, which may cause me to go deaf in both ears before I hit twenty," Rachel said.
"Please answer my question," Chloe groaned.
"Yes both Shane and Matt are here," Rachel replied.
We reached the front door that was hanging opening and the volume of the music had become even more unbearably loud. We pushed through the crowd of drunken students blocking the entranceway.
"They're totally wasted and it's not even nine," Rachel mutters, pushing apart a couple that were grinding on each other and walking between them.
"Chloe!" Someone yelled over the music. "Chloe!"
Chloe, Rachel and I all turned to see Shane pushing through the crowd with a beer bottle in one hand.
"Hi," Chloe said when he was standing in front of her, suddenly going all shy.
"Hey," Shane said, wrapping his arm around my best friend and pulling her into him.
"And that's our cue to leave!" Rachel exclaimed grabbing me by the elbow and steering me away from Shane and Chloe.
