Book of secrets

Chapter 4

"Where am I?" I am standing in a village, "RUN!!!" a woman screams, battlecries can be heard all around me, the village is burning, men dressed in heavy silver armor and black paint on their faces, charged at the village, I screamed as they ran towards me, but they just ran straight through me as if I was a ghost, "what the" realizing I could only watch the terror, the attackers laughing at every person they killed, their yellow teeth was razor sharp, they aren't human, was the only thing I could think of, what was happening?, "come here you skank!" one of the things was trying to take one of the women, what a disgusting, "this land belongs too queen Coralina! and so do all of you" the villagers was crumbling, their dead friends and family members on the ground before them, what a true terror who ever this Coralina is, she is clearly an enemy that is no good for the world. "These people belong too no one! they are honest people that work hard for the better of our kingdom, and Coralina is NO queen, especially not of these lands!"  a group of knights came riding towards the attackers, they fight for the people and won, what is going on here?! I kept asking only too be ignored, the leader of the knights killed the last monster or what ever they where, and took of his helmet, I was kinda mind blown, not only was he handsome but he looked too be my age how can someone so young be this strong? and who are all of these people, and why does he seem familiar?.

Opening my eyes I sat up looking around, thank god... "it was just a dream... What now?" I looked down seeing my necklace glow, "how are you?" the glow disappeared like it never was, "Melissa sweetie! you're going too be late for the first day of school if you don't hurry!" mom yelled from what i assumed was the kitchen, I directed my eyes too the clock there was only half a hour left! "oh crap!" I jumped out of bed running too the bathroom only too run into the locked door, trying to open it I banged on the door "come on Nick!" "okay, okay sorry but it takes time too look this good" he said as he stepped out of the bathroom, "well then it's too bad you don't have more time,  because you could use it" "hey!" he yelled at me as I locked the door on him.

*time skip too after the morning routine*

"okay I got everything, but somethings missing" just as I finished the sentence bookie came flying at me "oh right! i needed too take you with me!" opening my bag it settled it self in between some notebooks we bought yesterday, "Melissa!" "coming" I practically ran down the stairs almost tripping on the last step, "sweetie aren't you gonna eat breakfast?" "no mom Sara is waiting outside for me" taking an apple from the bowl on the table and the lunch mom just prepared i hurried out to meet Sara, "Mels! so good to see you!" "Sara! right back at ya, come on let's get going we don't want to be late" "well then, you just could have hurried a bit more" Sara laughed at me knowing how much I hated mornings and how lazy I could be, while walking we where just catching up, on what had happened through summer.

"Is it just me or are there more students this year?" I asked looking around, there was new students everywhere and old that was coming with the bus and so on, "nah it's the same amount as last year, you just got a lousy memory" a familiar voice said from behind us, we turned around and said "JAKE!!!" Sara and I ran over too him and gave each other a giant group hug, "the three amigos together again ha" Jake said as we let each other go, "as always, what have you been up too?" Sara asked as we headed towards the locker hall, "well I have been in Italy all summer" "yeah I can see that chocolate boy" I said poking his cheek, hinting that he had gotten quite the tan, "yeah i know but you should have seen me the first week, I was red as, as a lobster" he joked making us laugh by the image, "what about you girls?" "well I was visiting my uncle, you know in England" Sara answered, then they both looked at me, "uh me? heh you see..."

- Flashback -   

"but grams this spell is impossible!" "try again you need too know the spells, herbs everything" grams continued too put magic books in front of me, "hey what did this do again?" I asked while opening, a jar with a thundercloud in it, "no don't" sadly grams didn't stop me in time and I opened it, as the cloud flew out of the jar and began to grow under the ceiling it started to create a storm, thunder  sounds crashed through out the cloud and rain was destroying everything, "you know you aren't supposed too touch anything you don't know what is!" grams yelled over the magic storm inside the house, "yeah I do recall you told me something about that" I gave a smile hoping to brighten up my mistake, a lighting crashed down on one of the herbs making it explode, making both of us scream, I was hiding under the table receiving glares from where she was standing over in the corner with a book over her head.

"uhm Melissa?" Jake waved his hand in front of my face making me snap back to reality, "oh ehm, actually not much, I have been home just having some... family bonding time" "okay then" Jake said looking around, "oh no, warning douchebags ahead" Sara said as she turned her back too them, I looked over her shoulder to see Jasmina and her boyfriend brock. "Oh look what the cat dragged  in... some kinda trash" her 'friends' began laughing and giggling, "yeah it's weird, i thought cats had enough dignity to not chew you up and spit you out, with the fake hairballs on your head" Sara said smiling, "eh as if" Jasmina said she turned on her heel and huffed, "I can't believe them" I said looking at the way they walked, "that reminds me, Jasmina's mom was being strangly friendly towards my family yesterday" "you mean without the snop attitude?" Jake asked looking at me like it was unbelieveble, "yeah it was weird I think they're plotting too take over the world and somehow they are planning too turn my family into there first slaves or something" I joked, then having a flashback of the dream I had, the innocent people screaming, scared, and me just standing not able too help them at all... then that boy's face flashed into my mind, it was a much clearer image of him, I realized that he had blond hair and dashing blue eyes, you know, your ordinary pretty boy that every girl would fall for, "Melissa are you okay? you seem too be spacing out a lot today" Sara asked worry in her voice, I was absent minded but this was a new record, "yeah, yeah i'm fine, just wierd to be back at school" trying too avoid more investigation from them.

The locker hall was actually not that filled, which supriced me since there was so many students outside, "hey what lockers do you have?" we all asked at the same time, making all of us give a small laugh, "nerds" Jasmina said as she walked past us, her face looking like she was walking around something that was pure disgusting, "did you look in the mirror lately, it looks like a freaking rainbow threw up on your face" I mumbled, though Sara and Jake heard it and began laughing with me, "anywaayy, I have locker 551" Jake answered first, "great bro! that's the locker besides me" Brock said pushing Jake with his shoulder, "great... Just great" Jake said and began walking towards his locker, "too bad for Jake, what did you get?" looking over Sara's shoulder too see that she got "622" she answered, "yes! I have 624" we squealed and walked over too our new lockers, putting some of our more unnecessary things in, (ring, ring) "okay let's get too our first class which is english!" Sara said and headed towards it, "oh hey Melissa I actually wanted to-" Jake not getting to ask me something, seeing that I was already running towards our next class, and me failing too see that he wanted to talk.

"So he was all like please go out with me, but then I said like no I got a boyfriend, and that happened like all summer" Jasmina kept talking too her 'friends' who just happened too be Chloe and Zoe the schools twins, and the only girls that could almost rival Jasmina's bad attitude, "I don't see what's so interesting about her forgetting the part where she realized it wasn't her he asked, but the toad besides her, because it was much prettier than her" "excuse me?! what did you say" Jasmina snapped back at me "oh nothing, just the truth" I mumbled the last part and I don't think she heard me "good you better keep quiet if you know whats best for you" Jasmina walked pass the seats me and Sara where sitting at and pushed down my books, "oh aren't you just clumsy" she continued walking too the backseats in the classroom, my fingers twitched making a little light of my magic out, taking a deep breath, I tried too calm myself as I picked up my books, but then I thought 'if I can finally use magic on earth... why not use it'. I moved my hand in small movements not too get noticed, and whispered the spell "I swear I dare, undo Jasmina's hair" releasing my magic, I let it find it's way too Jasmina, and shortly after Chloe and Zoe screamed, "what?" Jasmina asked, "JAS YOUR HAIR!!" they said in unison, Jasmina took up a small mirror from her designer purse, and I swear you could hear her scream too the north pole, her hair basically looked like a lightning strike hit her, and then a clown with some confetti sprayed it in some parts of her hair like a crazy man, she and her minions ran out of the class pushing our teacher that just walked in, out of the way, "maybe this school year won't be THAT bad after all" I whispered too myself looking at my hands that was laying in my lap, "what?" Sara asked as she opened her english book, "oh nothing" I smiled and did the same.
