I waited quietly for Haze to find me, my icy blue eyes quick to respond to any new noises and movement. Haze, where are you? I quietly asked through the Link we shared, my head filled with the thought of being found by those rouges. Just stay where you are, Emily. I'll find you when I am able to. Came a quiet reply, and I felt my heartbeat quicken. I remained where I was, trying to gather my thoughts quickly before I decided what I would do next.
I knew I needed to find Haze, but at the same time, I also needed to listen to her. I lowered my head into my small hands, feeling my hair fall around my hands, and I let out a sigh, closing my eyes to fill my sight with pure blackness. I filled my head with that emptiness, only opening my eyes a few moments later because of a noise. I quickly shifted my gaze downward, widening my eyes as I saw the silver wolf from earlier. He had a determined look on his face, and I suddenly tensed up, glancing at my arms quickly only to see the mud had dried. The dried mud crumbled off me when I moved, dropping towards the ground.
I held my breath as the silver wolf growled, lowering its ears in annoyance as it slowly investigated. I began to tremble slightly, my icy blue eyes filling with unshed tears as I thought about what could possibly happen if they found me by chance. Haze, I'm scared was all I said before a blinding light streaked across my face, causing me to blink rapidly and raise a hand to cover my eyes. I didn't realize my mistake until I saw another clump of dried mud fall, landing directly in front of the silver wolf.
Emily, don't be scared. I'll be there shortly, and then we'll leave this whole place. We'll forget about this whole thing, and just continue living on our own. I just need you to trust me on this, and to remain in hiding! Please, Emily... Haze said back to me, and I slowly opened my eyes and removing my hand. I cast a glance in the direction the blinding light came from, and I realized quickly the sun was setting. I'm going to be up here alone, I thought to myself, blocking my thoughts from the wolves and from Haze. I felt empty as I studied the horizon.
Bright and colourful swirls of blues, pinks, reds, oranges, and yellows mixed together, creating a beautiful image. I smiled then, enjoying the sight. I then frowned, remembering how I used to watch the sunsets with Haze, and I looked down at the ground, to see the silver wolf left, no doubt annoyed that he couldn't find me. I let out a soft sigh, unsure if it was still around or not. Amusement filled my features as I watched two songbirds, probably Mocking jays, glide around in the sky, preforming shallow dips and speedy turns, seeming to try and outdo one another.
I let a small laugh escape my lips as I watched them dance in the sky for a few moments longer, just until the sun set, touching the tips of the trees with darkness. I relaxed on my perch, stretching out my feet so I was steady on the branches. I glanced around, grabbing any thick branches I could and stretching them out beneath me to make a makeshift bed.
I lifted myself up, standing carefully on a thick branch, and studied the bed, fixing any thing that looked uncomfortable. A few minutes later, I sat myself down, getting myself comfortable before looking around slowly once more and closing my eyes. Good night, Haze I thought quietly before slowly letting myself fall into the grips of sleep.

I woke up quite early the next morning to the sound of loud snarls below me. I slowly opened my eyes, before rubbing them with my hands in tight knuckles, and then I looked down. My face immediately paled as I saw the sandy wolf from yesterday. Flynn, I think his name was. Flynn let out loud growls towards my direction, his eyes completely black instead of the bright amber eyes I saw yesterday. His growls echoed through the forest, and before long, the silver wolf arrived with the brown wolf again, and a wolf I've never seen before, a pure black wolf.
