Beldina the Beautiful

Jardan and Beldina walked side by side as they made their way to Beldina's University, she had to inform them that she was suspending her education for at least three months, she was not sure how long they would be gone, or how long it would seem that she had been gone since time was different back in Seglon, and also the fact that once she had returned how she would see things, she might not even be the same person, stealing a glance at Jardan she noticed his face was set into a grim look, after what had happened this morning things hadn't really turned out as expected, she had expected different things from him and she had said some hurtful things, and now here they were side by side but not speaking, and the row with her father which made the whole street tremble with all the shouting hadn't turned out too good either.

But Beldina was adamant she wanted to go and Jardan was going to be there she trusted him, she didnt quiet know why but it was a feeling she had in her gut, he would protect her, he had done nothing to them since his arrival, and if what he was saying was true she really did not have any escape sooner or later they would come for her and they wouldn't be as understanding as Jardan, and this baby producing thing sounded so mechanical, shouldn't there be love and loyalty and other stuff a person should feel, shivering she tried to push the thoughts away, she didn't think that anyone should have to go through something like that, and she was pretty sure no one wanted to give up their children for the sake of the planet, but Jardan said he couldn't see a way out of it and that the colony was dying, a remedy had to be found. Jardan was eager to leave and meet up with his friends, according to him he had been away for a long time and that his people would start to wonder since they couldn't keep in touch, now why be an alien have have no special technology to keep in touch, he had also said that he needed to find out what was really going on because he didn't think it was just keeping the population going, he thought that something else was brewing, and then there was this connection between them which was growing stronger each day and somehow she didn't think she could fight against even if Jardan was trying his best not to show it. Puffing out her cheeks in frustration she stole another look at Jardan, he stops and looks at her, "OK what's going on, your awfully quiet which you never are, I mean you always have something to say, and now your acting all mysterious, are you planning of escaping because its futile, you cant escape me." Beldina looked over at Jardan again and made a face and rounded on him, "I have no escape plan, and I am not quiet just thinking, its a lot to take in, and em' about earlier I don't know why I feel so strongly about going back, and I know my dad gave you a hard time, but try and understand him too, he lost his wife, and I my mother, these people if that is what they are haven't been the nicest by what I can gather, and its hard for him to accept the fact that I want to go back to that." And who was she trying to convince, herself or Jardan, Jardan pushed his fingers through his hair and blew through his lips, rolling his eyes upwards his voice was shallow but stern, "I am not blaming your father or you, I feel bad about this because I got caught in the middle of it I don't know how I can fix this without dragging you into it, the connection I feel towards you confuses me and I cant seem to stop wanting to save you and I don't know what we will find when we get back, if anything I think your father is right." Beldina made a funny sound, he seemed so uncertain now, he was confused too she realised.

"What! Your joking right, I mean you were the one that came to kidnap me, and now your saying you think its too dangerous, this is great." Beldina turns away from Jardan and takes a few steps away to stand by a brick wall, leaning her back on it for support, this was just great. "Look I know what it looks like, and I am sorry that I don't have any good things to say but I cant lie to you about it, I want to be honest." She hadn't mentioned the connection so he wasn't going to either, he would play it how she wanted, soon they wouldn't see each other at all after all this was over what was he expecting undying love, he laughed at himself for even harbouring such a notion. Jardan came to stand before her, he was angry with her with himself, with this whole thing, and in fact he just wanted it to finish, he didn't like the fact that she had so much power over his feelings and she was still standing strong, thinking of nothing but what her mothers life had been like, he needed to get a perspective on things, he needed to clear his head, but how he didn't know. "I know I am sorry, its your planet and its probably ten times worse, and I am not making it any easier, and I do appreciate the fact that you are helping, don't mind me. But I would have thought you wanted to do more for your planet?" But as the words came out Beldina regretted them seeing the look on Jardans face, he was angry, Jardans brow creased as he squinted his eyes and said through tightly clenched teeth, and a pointed finger in her face, "In actual fact its your planet as well, so stop being childish and I am thinking of my planet, where do you get off telling me things like this, I am saving your butt, and where are we going, this conversation is getting us no where and funny stares from people." Beldina stuck out her tongue than without thinking bit his finger, they stood there his finger between her teeth, both confused and shocked by the act, Beldinas eyes looking from side to side, while Jardan stared at her ones, Oh damn what was she doing, slowing removing her teeth from his finger she smiled sweetly, Jardan looked at her than his finger and slowly dropped it to his side, his mouth opened but no words came out, "Sorry." she said softly and looked away but Jardan stood there stock still one hand against the brick wall near her head and the other by his side, what was she doing, who was she angry with, her father for lying to her all those years, her mother for dying so young, or being betrayed and taken from her so called planet, or was it that Jardan was a really nice guy and she didn't know if he was capable of caring or loving someone, was he even human like her, in as much as she was human herself, she was of cause she reasoned or was it Jardans indifference to her feelings, which ever she had gone too far by biting his finger.
