Chapter 18.

Vikki's POV:

I took a day off and rested. I couldn't feel Melissa no more it was like she was ripped from me, my wolf was in pain and weak.
Lark and Jason took over pack work while training the young one's.

Vanessa hasn't spoken to me since she left and Vincent is distant.
It's like my family is splitting.. I was so scared of losing them.

A knock came at the door as Amy came in smiling. She walked over with food and set it down.
"Thanks Amy.." I smiled.

"How you feeling?" She said.

I shrugged my shoulders.
"Empty"

She frowned and rubbed my shoulder.
"We'll find her. I can guarantee it"

I nodded as she got up and went to the door.
"Can you get Vanessa and Vincent."

She nodded and shut the door.
I groaned and started to eat my toast as the door opened. Vincent came in jumping on the bed relaxing

"I need my own room and this kind of bed." He laughed.

I rolled my eyes smirking.

Vanessa came in with arms crossed and sat down.
She was pissed and no one bothered her, I needed to get us back together.

"Listen-

"If your gonna start this bullshit about were gonna be ok blah blah. Your waiting my
time -

"First off, lose the additude, and stop cussing in this house. I know your mother is gone and your stuck with me but seriously I am your dad/mom what ever you wanna call me. Show some respect." I told her.

She laughed.
"Respect? All mom tried doing was good. She was helping Kat out and you couldn't see that. You made her the bad guy in all this mess and she isn't, she was only helping!" She yelled at me.

"Even if it was good? She should of told me first, she went behind my back. I am her mate. You wouldn't understand."

Vincent coughed and closed his eyes letting us bicker.

"Yeah and I'll make sure my mate isn't like you too." She snapped.

Lark knocked and looked at us and regretted it.
"Bad time."

"Very." Vanessa growled.

I sighed and looked at him.
"Well I'll be back.."

"No what's up?"

He cleared his throat.
"We still have no news, but there is something strange going on I can feel it, the people killing the Vampires are increasing ."

I sighed.

"Vampires?" Vanessa asked.

"Someone is killing them?" Vincent sounded shocked.

I nodded.
"Yeah since the past two months. It has gotten worse, I don't now who is doing it or why. Or why hasn't the council done nothing about this problem."

It was quiet until Vanessa spoke up.

"I think there hiding someone from all of us. They are so sneaky, why hasn't mom come back. "

I looked at her and but my lip , I didn't even now why she hasn't come back or why I couldn't feel her no more. It's like she disappeared.

"You have a point Vanessa.." I admitted.

She smiled and flipped her hair laughing.

Vincent smacked her as they played fought on the bed. There wolves were getting closer and it scared me so much, what if I had to explain all this on my own... God help me.

We sat there quiet and looked at all the paper work of these people killing them. We didn't have any leads on who is doing it.

I was about to say something but a loud and I mean LOUD growl rumble through the house. Everyone was quiet.
My heart dropped.

"It's that..." Vanessa started looking at me.

I shot out of bed and listened.
"It's Melissa.."

I smiled and relaxed, she did her Alpha call to tell us she was alright.. But now all we have to do is find her.

I grabbed on a rope and walked out my room. Everyone followed me.

"Did you hear that!" People shouted.

"Was that Alpha?!" Someone screamed.

"Dad where are you going?" Vincent asked pulling Vanessa along.

I stayed quiet and moved to my desk. I felt her, her wolf was calming my wolf down. But she didn't say where she was.

"Hello! Where are we going?" Vanessa asked.

I went to my desk and grabbed the key's looking at them smiling.
"I'm getting my mate back." I smirked.
