I'm new to this so please don't be to harsh. Yay for squiggly lines!

It was breath taking, the sight in front of her. Small droplets of water danced through the air, reflecting any light that seeped through the cracks. They illuminated the room in almost a crystalline way, spreading shapes and rainbows over the walls and floors. It gave her a warm feeling inside like when you've lain in the sun long enough, it's kissed glow warming your skin all the way through to your soul. She looked around the beautiful room and, with breath held, she cautiously reached out for one of the droplets. Closer and closer her hand came and the faster her heart beat. Her small finger was just a hairs breath away now, a shimmer of light in her eyes. The moment her finger touched the cool, wet surface of the droplet her life became forever changed.

"Aisling, are you ready yet?"

"One moment!" The small teen ran through her room, collecting notebooks and pencils, paints and brushes, and lastly a large sketchbook before shoving them all into a black bag that hung loosely from her shoulder. She sprinted out into the living room, golden sandals smacking on the wooden floor.

"Ready?" A tall woman stood by the door, her long purple skirt sweeping the floor as she turned. Her wavy brown hair was messily pinned up high on her head with multicolored pins, a few strands left loose around her face.

"Yep!" The girl said with excitement. "Where are we going today, Aunt Izzy?" She inquired while attempting to pull up her own mess of long blonde tresses, although with less finesse and colors as her brooding aunt.

"I thought it would be nice just to spend the day at the beach and maybe the boardwalk a bit later tonight." She said, hands clasped in front of her large chest. Aisling envied her aunt. The years had been good to the older woman. The lines on her face were very subtle and her curves still very prominent. The woman was known by most of the towns people and she just had a carefree attitude that you couldn't help but like.

"Sounds great." Aisling pulled the bag higher on her shoulder and headed out the door of the tiny cottage. The sun beat down on her fair skin as she slid on a pair of aviators. Her aunt locked the door and tossed a ring of keys into her own large bag. She strode down the stone path and stopped at the edge of the road. Aisling waited a moment with her aunt before sprinting across the road. She stopped on the other side and waited as the older woman took her time crossing.

"Excited?" Her aunt asked while staring out at the ocean which was just a few feet away.

"Maybe just a bit." A small smile played at the corners of Aisling's mouth as she stepped onto the warm sand. Slipping off her sandals she allowed the sand to move between her toes. The feeling always made her feel better. She stood there for a moment, just letting the sunlight warm her skin, the salty smell of the ocean beckoning her forward. Once she finally opened her eyes inspiration filled her wandering mind. She walked for a few minutes, simply allowing her body to take her where it wanted. Once the sounds of everyone on the main beach faded she sat down and removed the contents of her bag. With only the peaceful lull of the waves she began to paint the image that had plastered itself onto her brain. With every stroke of her brush, each new color that made its way onto the canvas, she couldn't help but smile. Painting always brought her peace.
