"How about some new Mickey ears?" Melissa asked and searched her purse for her wallet.
"Haven't you got like eight already?" I laughed. Melissa shrugged and smiled.
"You can never have too many ears." she joked. We've so far been in "Castle Couture", "Fantasy Faire", "Hundred Acre Goods" and in "Sir Mickey's". Melissa had basically emptied all the shops for useful clothing and stuffed toys. Me? I just bought a t-shirt and a pair of Mickey ears that I already had put on my head. In "Castle Couture", Melissa and I had dressed up in fact dresses and used about an hour of taking stupid selfies and posing for videos that we would send to our parents later today.
Tommy bought himself a new camera in "Fantasy Faire". Doug bought a basic blue Disney shirt. Allan didn't buy anything. He didn't seem like himself today. He used to buy anything that came interesting to him. But he didn't say anything. He just followed the group, and shrugged whenever he got asked a question.
We then all decided to visit Tomorrowland for Allan's sake. We went in "Buzz's Star Command", "Mickey's Star Traders" and "Ursa's Major Minor Mart". But nothing seemed to cheer him up. It got a little late, and we all got hungry, so we decided to go get some lunch. It was 2pm. I could still scoot h over to the Swiss Family Treehouse and get a tour from Bryan. The other wouldn't mind.
We found a cute little café called "Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café". We ordered 2 hotdogs, a grilled chicken sandwich, a greek salad and a barbecued pork sandwich. I finished my hotdog first and told everyone that I needed to use the restrooms. But we all know that I again sneaked away to meet Bryan.
But of course I had a tail. Or, well, I had Allan following me. I ran out of Tomorrowland, through Liberty Square and finally into Adventureland. I could finally see the treehouse and was happy that the line wasn't extremely long. I stopped and took a deep breath. I was about to take a step forward and run to the line before I got stopped. Someone took my hand. I turned around and saw Allan. He had a serious facial expression and didn't look like himself.
"Allan? What ar..." I started. But he cut me off.
"I needed to use the restroom?" he said annoyed and judgy. Okay, he got me.
"Look Allan, it's sweet of you to look after me, but I'm 21, not 11. I can take care of myself, thanks." I said and tried to make him let go of my hand. But he refused.
"He's gonna break your heart, you know." he then said.
"What are you talking about?"
"This little flirt you two have. It's all fake you know." he said and crossed his arms. I didn't even know what to say. I was speechless.
"What the heck are you talking about?" I almost yelled. Allan didn't move a muscle.
"I can see right through that guy. He's probably flirting with every guest he has a chance with." he defended himself, still with crossed arms.
"You can't just judge someone like that!" I yelled.
"Come on. Be reasonable, Liz.." it was now my turn to cut him off.
"Don't Liz me, okay? It's unbelievable that you, as my friend, don't support me, now that I finally found a perfect guy." I said, turned around and marched towards the entrance of the treehouse. The tour had just begun. Behind me I could hear Allan yell after me that I was making the biggest mistake of my life.
I took a few deep breaths. I didn't want Allan's bad mood to affection my meeting with Bryan. There were a lot of kids on the tour. So, I let them go first. Unfortunately that also meant that I could see as much as I wanted. We got introduced to a room where Jane, Terk and Bry.. uh, Tarzan stood. He looked like a God sitting on all four besides Jane.
I tried to make eye contact with Bryan, but he didn't see me. Who could blame him? I was standing in the back behind a billion kids.
"Now, kids, can one of you tell me, what family lives in this treehouse?" Jane asked and bowed down to the kids height level. All the kids screamed their answer: "The Swiss Family!!" I chuckled. I liked kids. They had such an amazing view of the world. I wonder what Bryan and I's children would look like. But I erased that thought of my mind. It was too early to think about children now.
"That's correct. A family is known for many things. You need to stand together." Jane said and then looked over at Bryan. Their hands touched each other as seen in the movie. The kids all "awe'ed". I rolled my eyes. How pathetic. I've done that too... Jane and Bryan's eyes didn't move away from each other.
"Just like Tarzan and Jane." Bryan then said. My jaw dropped. Bryan and Jane's heads came closer to each other and formed one of the most perfect kisses I've seen in my life. The kids cheered and I was ready to scream and pull of Jane's fake wig and eyelashes in anger.
But I ended up with tearing. It hurt seeing him kissing another woman so passionate. Their heads divided and they smiled to the children. First then Bryan saw me. I still had tears in my eyes. He looked worried at me and I knew he wanted to come towards me, but he couldn't. And then I realized. Allan was right. He'd be smooching all over Jane, even if we were a couple. I couldn't live with that jealousy. And then his theory about just flirting with me because he had the opportunity to, seemed a lot more realistic.
So before I made a complete fool out of myself in front of everyone, I left the treehouse, leaving Bryan with the maze of children. I ran over to the restrooms across the road. I didn't want anyone to see what a naive failure I was. Especially Allan.
