It was lunchtime now, I had gotten a detention after school with Lucy because she was pestering me about the game yesterday and what happened this morning. I told her nothing but she bugged me and when I told her to knock it off our Biology teacher gave us a detention at the end of school. Right now I was looking around for Kate so I could tell her she’d have to go home by herself, she should know the way by now, well I was hoping. Fingers crossed!
“Danielle!” I heard my name being called from across the canteen, oh no not this again! I turned around to the table where I was sitting at yesterday with the guys, and saw Luce waving at me to come over, I put up my index finger telling her to wait for me for a minute and turned around looking for my sister without waiting for a reply. I spotted my Katelyn as she was sitting in the far corner with some of her mates, walking up towards them I saw Kate look at me and smile.
“Heyy Kate, I got a detention today after school so you’d have to go home alone yh,” I told her once I reached her table. She gave me a nod, but before I turned around one of her friends began talking,
“Hey, I go home with my brother, we could give you a ride?” she offered, Katelyn looked at me, she knew how I felt about people coming to our house, I looked the girl up and down, she looked decent and well not snob-ish,
“Who’s your brother?” I asked, if it’s some jerk than no but her reply gave me a shock,
“Jake Middleton, you were with him yesterday,” she pointed out; I smiled at my sister and gave her a nod before heading to Lucy and the guys.
“Jake, you got another passenger on the way home yeah,” I said,
“But I thought you had detention with Luce, unless you’re thinking of bunking,” he said with a smirk but I just scoffed, I usually would but not now it’s my second day.
“I was talking about Katelyn, doofus,” I retorted, he just nodded and with that I started eating my pizza,
“Soooo…..Danielle ……Are you going to tell me what I’ve been asking all day?” she asked.
“Well, Em you’ve been asking me today for a lot of things actually, like in biology you asked for a pencil and then you asked for an eraser and oh what else…” I trailed off with a smirk the guys looked at me trying in to hold they’re laughter, right now Lucy was red with anger.
“You know what I’m talking to you about. How do you know the captain of East Angels?” she asked, I turned my head towards her, finished off chewing my food in my mouth which I took time with and swallowed it as slowly as possible. The guys started smirking and a few snickered but Emily just had a stone hard face, sending me death glares when the rest weren’t looking. I just pretended I never saw them…for now…I didn’t want to start an argument.
“Who?” I asked blankly like I never knew who she was talking about, now she was really pissed off but I cut her off before she could blow it. I sighed,
“I went to East High remember, so Evans was my best mate when I was there,” I told her but not telling her about the details. What’s so shocking about attending East High and knowing there captain. I shrugged off the stares the guys were giving me and carry on with lunch.
“So you’re best mates with East High’s captain?” Nate asked, I just shrugged and headed out of the canteen towards my locker.
“Oi!” I heard a girl scream, everyone in the hallway turned to look at who it was, once I saw it who it was I turned back around and carried on heading to my locker, I wasn’t bothered with this sh*t.
“Can’t you hear?” she asked, but made it sound more like a comment.
“What do you want with me?” I turned around and asked, people don’t have lives, I swear everyone was looking at us.
