Fuck!

Something pulls me from my back to the ceiling and as I hit the ceiling I feel a stinging pain in my back.

As scary as usual and I'm breathing heavily. I put my hand to my face as if I'm checking whether I'm still dreaming.

Fresh scratches on my arms and my hair is as white as usual.
So that part isn't a dream.

I can hear Albert, Clara and Darren outside my window. They're the three crows that always seem closest to me.

"Mykie, are you awake yet? If you're not you're gonna be late." My mom calls from the other side of my bedroom door.
"I'm going to take a shower." I shout back and I hear her footsteps going down the stairs.
I sit up straight and put my head between my knees, it's like this nightmare is getting worse every day. I've been having the same nightmare for the last five years, nothing else, no more dreams. Just this one nightmare.

I grab the big fairy-tale book that is laying on my side table and I open it, this is where I hide my scissors. I look at them and I let one of my fingers slide from the tip to the handle. It's just as shiny as it was three years ago.

Albert screeches from outside of my window and one of them taps the glass.

"Yeah, yeah." I reply faintly as I close the book and get out of bed. I can't wait to open the curtains and to see my friends again.

I close the book and put it back in it's place and I open the curtains to see Albert, Billy and Clara sit on the part of the roof in front of my window. When I look at the other roof tops of the neighborhood I can see all the other crows sitting on their regular spots.

I open the window and stick my arm out to pet Clara under her beak, she shakes her feathers in response and the other two hop over to my hand for attention.
Their need for attention makes me giggle and I pet Albert with my other hand after kissing Billy on his head.
Billy replies by giving me a hello.

"Very good, Billy!" I scratch him on his neck and he gives me another hello making me giggle.

Silly bird

The others see this and wildly start mimicking Billy.

"Alright, alright! I only have a limited amount of hands, you know. I'll share my lunch with you today, don't worry." They calm down and I smile at them.

I wave them goodbye as I walk over to my closet and grab a pair of jeans, a black tank top and my hoodie, before walking into the bathroom.

I lay down my clothes and walk over to my shower as I turn it on.
It's only when I yawn and scratch my head I notice something hard on the sides of my head and I rush to my mirror.

what the hell?
This is new.
A whole chunk of hair is missing
and in it's place..
I-I honestly don't know how to describe this, it kind of has the same texture of my nails, only it's black and like a round flat circle.
How the fuck did that even get there
How the hell am I supposed to hide this?!

I rush into my shower hoping that the littke circles will dissappear once I've taken a shower. But that won't work.
As soon as I possibly can I get out dry myself and put my hair into a high ponytail, I adjust my hair in a way that it covers the things.
I'll just have to settle with this.
I get dressed and grab my bag before rushing out the door. I should go to our meeting place, maybe they'll help me.
As fast as my legs can take me I go to the abandoned park near our house. When I get there I folow the path between the willow tree's, you're only able to see it if you're looking for it.

At the end of the path there is an open field with trees all around it and a tiny pond in the centre. Throughout the middle of pond arches a big branch.
I pick a daisy and walk over to the pond before crouching next to it.
I look at myself in the water and I let the daisy float in my reflection.
After a few seconds Albert, Billy and Clara start to screech. The other birds stay quiet but are clearly uneasy. I normally don't come to her for questions, it makes both me and the birds uneasy. There isn't somewhere else I can go to, the crows can mimick soumds they hear, but they don't know all the answers either.
She's the only chance I have.
