We stacked the flares, smoke bombs, and small fireworks in a pile on a cafeteria table, and the younger crew began our job.  We were assigned 'booby trapping' and we decided that when we heard them we would light a few smoke bombs and set off a flare, before exiting the premises and meeting up with everyone before going back in.  Our parents also decided that since Calum, Kyle, Alyssa and I were teenagers, we should be the first ones out and ready to leave.  We also found a bottle of tear gas and some gas masks.  After supplying everyone staying with a mask, we were careful to handle the harsh chemical in the bottle in fear that we would accidently set it off.

"Do you smell that?" Spencer asked.

"Smells like gas to me, probably not a problem." Her spouse decided.

"I seriously love the smell of gas." Alyssa blurted out and we all laughed.

"I really hope everything goes well and we don't have to leave." I sighed in realization that this could be one of the last days we live here. The more I think about it, this could even be one of the last days we live.

"Well you know what they say about hope," Spencer began. Toby looked in thought as he glanced at the concrete floor as if he knew what he was going to say. "It breeds eternal misery." She finished. No one had anything to say after that. (lolol you know I love pll)

"Debby Downer much?" Kyle
muttered underneath his breath but I knew exactly what he said.

"Shut up Kyle."  I rolled my eyes before finishing.  "I'll go see what happened."

I walk out of the cafeteria and into the storage rooms where David and my dad are putting all of the guns into huge green duffel bags which I'm assuming will go with Marcus and Katie or some of the others.

We all came to the conclusion that the safest bet was to pack up all of the necessary items just in case of the instance that we don't get the vault back, although that's a slim chance, we should still be as prepared
as we can be since we have the means and the time to be, so that meant that we packed up all of our firearms and ammunition.

"Did someone spill gas?"  I questioned either of the two.

"I smelt it too.  Thought it was you guys?"  Sam replied, eyeing my father.

I shook my head. "I guess we should go check it out."  My dad suggested.  No one was outside at the moment, so it couldn't be that either.

My mind swarmed with scenarios of horrible things happening as I repeatedly told myself to calm down.

We stopped for our guns and held them ready position, pointed at the ground but ready to shoot.  I took a deep breath, feeling a bead of sweat roll down my face although I had just gotten a chill.

My adrenaline pumped as I awaited my families' fate.  We look for any signs of someone else as the smell is as prominent as ever.  It almost seems as if the clouds had rained gasoline.

Stay strong for her.  Don't be a baby. I repeat over and over in my mind.
