"I tried to tell you!" The beta exclaimed as he pointed at me.
"Oh, hush!" I said. I took my bun out and began to braid my hair. I usually mess with my hair when I become anxious.
"We need to leave now Alpha, before she figures out who we are and tells the 'clan'." The beta said with a growl. I immediately ran through my mental library of werewolf information that my parents practically shoved down my throat. Alpha Lance, where are you from? I asked myself. Suddenly, puzzle pieces began to fit together as I realized exactly who were in my room.
"Alpha Lance Madrick, recent alpha of the Bloodstone pack in California. Beta Brice Elrick, recent beta and cliche best friend of the Alpha, is/was mated to a Grace Livingstone, omega of the Snow Mountain pack in Nevada. She moved to Bloodstone and vanished in a week, supposedly kidnapped by hunters. Alpha Lance Madrick took over after his father, Keyton Madrick, stepped down from his alpha position after his mate and luna, Lilly Simple, daughter of Alpha Kendrick Simple from England, died from a rogue attack. Alpha Kendrick had a daughter and son, Louis, who is now Alpha after finding his mate Rose Tyler who is human. Is everything correct so far?" I asked them. Both of them looked at me with slack jaw.
Alpha, I think we are in even more trouble than we realize. Brice said.
You think? No human should be able to distinguish that much, we haven't even mentioned either of our names! Lance exclaimed.
"Actually, Brice said your name." I said to them. "I can keep going too, eventually I can make it to ancient Egypt with just minor connections of people." I said with a slight nod.
"When did I say Alpha's name?" Brice asked me.
"Ummm, shortly after you tried to tell him that I was a hunter." I said with a tilt of my head.
"I never said that you were a hunter out loud." He said. I don't understand, can she read our thoughts?
I don't think so.
"Ummmm, I'm going to go, I strongly suggest that you don't leave this room until I tell you it's safe." I said to them as I walked out the door.
ALPHA! WE CAN'T LET HER TELL THEM WE'RE HERE! Brice screamed. I involuntarily covered my ears. It wouldn't help, but it was a reflex to loud noises.
"If I wanted to tell them that you're here, I would have done it already." I said to them as I left my room. I shut the door and walked away before they said anything else. Should I risk it? I thought. I sat in my study as I tried to determine what to do. I knew that the patrol would be fine because he was clearly a werewolf and he would have healed in minutes. I pulled out the blue prints of the house. I had a feeling that I knew where she was. My parents send someone every few months to go to the cells with a large amount of food and then they leave. I could always smell the wolfsbane though so I knew that the werewolf in the cells was doomed, it either died of starvation or it could never shift into a wolf. I never risked going to the cells, I went once and.... well.... I don't like to dwell on that memory. Subconsciously, I began to rub the raised skin that was perfectly smooth on my shoulder. I always did it every time I even thought about going to the cells, when I was younger, it was a tall tale sign that I wanted to go to the cells and my parents would 'convince' me to not go. I would be shocked if I had any normal skin on my back anymore. My class always wanted to go swimming but I never went, they just assumed that it was due to the fact that when I wasn't in school, I was usually at work or helping an animal at home.
Arie, are you okay? Megan asked as she rolled into my study.
"No Megan, I'm not." I said to her as I picked up her ball and opened it. That was when an idea hit me. "Megan, can you memorize this map?" I asked her. She glanced at the blueprints.
