Stef quickly hurried out of the room. I nervously glanced at Brandon, and worry had spread across his face like butter on toast. He jumped up and I followed him out of the room. My heart was beating, what was wrong with Jesus? We reached the bottom of the stairs and found the living room in a state of panic. Jesus was lying on the floor having a seizure, and Mariana and Lena stood above him, tear stricken.
Stef was calling an ambulance and Lena quickly snapped out of her shock and grabbed Jesus. He had stopped shaking and was now just lying there in Lena's arms, saliva dribbling out of his mouth. I covered my mouth in shock. Mariana ran over to me and I put my arms around her and held her tight. I felt so scared. Jesus was my brother and I loved him and my heart felt like I couldn't breathe from the nerves.
The ambulance arrived and Jesus was loaded in the back, whilst Moms hopped in beside him. Lena was crying whilst Stef looked nervously at her son. They told us to sit and wait and they would call us as soon as possible. We watched the ambulance drive down the street, and the four of us stood on the curb silent. The wind blew around us and nervous silence paced around us grimly. Jude sat down on the sidewalk and let his feet rest on the road.
"Will he be OK?" he whispered. I sat down next to him, and rested my head on his shoulder.
"Yeah Jude, he'll be fine." I lied. I didn't know what would happen, and I felt scared, but Jude needed to relax. Mariana and Brandon sat down too and the four of us sat there, looking down the road, waiting. Waiting. Waiting, for who knows what. Soon Jude got up and went back into the house, saying he was going to call Connor. I nodded and hugged him before he left.
The sun was setting and the road was empty except for the three of us. I shivered as the last of the warmth disappeared. Brandon noticed and took off his jumper and gave it to me. I looked at him, and our eyes stared into each others. I felt warm inside, his gaze made me want to melt. I took the jumper and thanked him. He inched closer to me, before secretly grabbing my hand and holding it. Mariana was upset, just staring at the ground nervously, and didn't notice anything. I rested my head on Brandon's shoulder and felt a wave of calmness wash over my despair. I smelt his scent and let it comfort me and he quietly let his hands tangle around my hair. We sat like that for a while until Mariana stood up, and I quickly moved my head away from Brandon's shoulder. It was dark now, and the three of us decided to go back into the house to wait for any sign of news from Moms.

We all sat silently until Moms arrived back late that night with Jesus, who was back to his cheery spirits. As soon as they walked through the door, the four of us ran up to Jesus and hugged him hard. Soon all the downbuzz and depressing mood was gone, and everyone was just ecstatic that Jesus would be OK.
The doctors had informed him that the seizure was a one off thing due to his large amount of exercise on this particular day, and had dosed him up with medication. Relief spilled over the house like soft snow falling over a mountain. After the worrisome day, Moms poured the wine and Jenna and more of their friends came over until they were all a little bit tipsy.
Us kids all sat watching a movie, although my heart was pounding thinking of the conversation Brandon and I still had to finish with Moms. I glanced over at Lena and Stef chatting jubilantly in the kitchen to their friends, and sighed as I felt fear overcome me. What were Brandon and I going to do?
Brandon who was sitting next to me felt me tense and glanced at me worriedly. God, I loved this family so much, but Brandon as well.
I was terrified at what was to come. But the fear of losing Jesus had made me realize one thing - I had to spend time with the ones I loved, because nothing lasts forever.
