Annabelle was shocked! Marry? She was only 17, turning 18 next week. She wants to explore the world, have fun. She isn't ready to become a wife!!
"So Annabelle, will you make me the happiest man alive and be my wife? At first I thought I was only going to ask you to be my girlfriend, you know... take it slow. Then that kiss came and I knew you were the one!"
Annabelle, still quite in shock, begins to talk. "Peter honey, sit." she shows him to the blanket , "Peter.. I'm not ready to get married yet. I'm turning eighteen next week. I still have a lot to learn about myself."
Peter looked at her with big and excited eyes, "Anna, we can learn that together..." He takes her hands in his.
"Peter I think we should just take it slower, we've only known each other for two and a half months. Let's start at the beginning. I would love to be your girlfriend."
Peter felt quite sad and angry that Annabelle turned down his offer, but he wasn't giving up hope...yet.
"Annabelle I love you and I don't want second best, I want all of it. I want to live with you for ever. I know we've only known each other for a while but this is true love honey."
"Peter I can't not yet and if you can't even take my opinion into consideration how could we marry? Peter I love you, and I mean a lot! But this I can't rush it..." Annabelle stood up and started to walk away, with tears in her eyes. Peter then rushed towards her and kissed her. She pulled away, "Peter..."
She started running towards the treehouse and pulled up the ladder to make sure Peter can't get to the top. Then she heard him, "Anna honey, I'm sorry. I know now that I took things to far! Will you forgive me? I'll give you time I'll be the best boyfriend ever. Please just don't leave me. I will take it a step back... Anna?"
He sounded desperate, heartbroken. All he wanted was that they could be together.
Annabelle stood at the door, "Peter give me time, I need to think. I think it's over. Please don't come back." She turned and went into the house where she cried herself to sleep.
Peter was furious and extremely sad. What has he done? He has just lost the love of his life...
