Troye

Troye walked through the halls of the school, trying to find his best friend. He just decided to go to class.

He walked into his Chemistry class, not really talking to anyone. He just sat down at his station, waiting for his friends.

Tyler walked through the doorway, looking horrible. Troye immediately knew the boy was hung-over, as he wobbled to the lab station.

Then Tyler puked. All over the floor. He ran out, probably going to the infirmary.

But then the new kid, Connor walked in. The boy had a Starbucks cup and a maroon Urban Outfitters backpack. He went to talk to the teacher and then he walked over to Troye.

'I'm supposed to sit here.' he wrote. Troye rolled his eyes. He sat down doodling random things on his white board.

"What are you doodling?" Troye asked. Connor held up his board, it was a bunch of hearts and peace signs. Troye nods.

The teacher comes to the front of the class and tells everyone about a project. Troye ignores half of it until he says it's a partner project. He looks over at his friend Marcus on the others side of the room.

"You will be partnering with the person sitting at you. the teacher says, but Troye's heart sinks.

He looks at the boy that is already staring at him.

"Come to room 123 at 4." Troye says. Connor nods in approval.

The bell rang and all the kids filed out of the class room, running over each other. Connor walked to his next class.

Connor

By the time it was 4, Connor had already had already eaten his snack and was on his way to Troye's room.

Connor was very excited to go to the boys room , he really liked him for some reason.

123, the room number read.

Connor knocked on the door, getting antsy.

"Hi, Connor? Isn't that your name?" Connor nodded in answer. Troye opened up the door for him to come in and Connor gladly did.

The room was a little messy with clothes strung all over the beds. Posters for the band 'Nirvana' , 'Artic Monkeys', and 'The 1975' were plastered on the wall. In the background you could here 'Mad Hatter' by Melanie Martinez playing.

Pills bottles were all over the floor and desk. Connor looked at Troye confused.

"I have anxiety , like really bad. I have to take a lot of pills so that the littlest don't make me have an anxiety attack." Troye cleaned them up, putting them all on the desk. "So what's this project that we have to do?" Troye asked.

'We have to find five examples of chemistry in the real world , take pictures and put them on poster board and explain what is happening.' Connor explained.

Troye nodded but he had a confused look on his face.

"When is this due?!" Troye asked.

'Sept. 23' Connor wrote.

"Oh we have plenty of time." Troye says, grabbing his jacket. "Let's go do something!" Troye insisted.

Connor shook his head in disapproval. 'I have a shit load of homework.' Connor answered.

"C'mon it'll be fine. You'll be back at like 10!" Troye said grabbing his wallet now.

'The curfew?! No thanks Troye!' Connor wrote back. He left after that, he could hear Troye scoffing at him as he exited.

Connor ran back to his room, his Doc Marten's squeaking in the tile floor.

He found his room, unlocked it and ran in. He locked it behind him. Connor really didn't have a lot of homework, wherever Troye was gonna there would be people. If there was people, they would judge him for not talking.
Connor found himself doodling on his white board. Then he started writing on paper.

Dear Connor ,

Hi, it's past you! The one that's so scared and lonely and probably will be when you're reading this. You are here because you are gay. And you really want to go back to Minnesota but you can't. Hopefully you have friends in the future. Hopefully you have a boyfriend too. But that most likely won't happen. Maybe you're in clubs, who knows. Maybe you still like Starbucks and Chipotle, because you're a basic ass white girl. Maybe you've done something daring. Maybe you're on a sports team. Or you're back in Minnesota, because your parents came to their senses and let you come back. Maybe you're not mute anymore! Hopefully , I mean. Okay bye!

Sincerely,
Past Connor

Connor knew why he was so sad now. He shouldn't have run out on Troye. He says that because he is in love with Troye, and he just pushed him away.
