"Evara! Wake up "! My English teacher called out from the end of the classroom as I dozed off for the fifth time during the class .Even though it was the first the first lesson and I had to battle the entire day but I looked like a loser already .
I sat straight embarrassed as the teacher sent darts with her eyes warning me of the consequences if I slept again .
Couldn't she see I was poor miserable thing , sleep -deprived , burdened , mentally choked to learn " The Invisible Man" . I put my best solemn face as if I was the most interested person in the life of the invisible man and thought of better things that would keep me from falling asleep again .
The rest of the day was a blur . As I listened to the accountancy lecture and counted the minutes for the school to get over, the clock ticked away at it's own accord. That's when my eyes wandered to the field where I saw the boys play soccer . A pang of jealously hit me but I was snapped out of my dream world when a girl raised a question towards the teacher and I saw the girls furiously scribbling every word spoken by the teacher . Looking at this I rolled my eyes and whispered ; "welcome back to your creed , Evara."And started scribbling like the rest.
The final bell rang singing the end of school in screechy tired student noises and laughter filled rumours. False rumour packed laughters are a part of school life in every part of the world inhabited by insecure and bored humans.
"Move in line "! Snapped a school prefect . I ignored her as usual and my ego made me walk completely out of line as she stared helplessly . I walked off rolling my eyes towards my school bus as I'm not used to hear my juniors snap at me .
I reached home and rushed towards the room and leaped at the notebook . It was time for some math tuition. The subject that chokes life out of me completely . Yet like a faithful disciple I went to tuitions , attended all lessons at school but honestly there was no chance of us becoming friends any time sooner .
An hour seemed like an age as I sat with full attention bearing up with soaring temperatures , quieting my stomach from growling as it ordered for food . The other kids answered each question thrown at them gracefully as I struggled to just answer them , if not gracefully .
I thought about my previous tuition where at least I had Aarav to look at.The thought of him made me smile and frown.
"You look beautiful today ". Said Aarav , which made me blush and disarmed me all at once .
"Evara will tell me the answer ". Said my tuition teacher . I swore quietly as I raced my mind to recall the magic of formulas of integration. The hour ended and so did my hunger.
As I walked back home after all the tuitions a bike crossed me making the head of the guy turn not only to look once but twice towards my direction .
Intimated I hugged my scarf nearer to me making a vain attempt to hide, I lowered my head and quitely continued walking in the darkness of the road .
As soon I reached home I threw myself on the bed and lay still , real still for the first time since the breaking of the dawn .
I lunged for my cellphone as it rang after ages excited for a piece of new information . All excitement was over with the news of accounts homework . I set to work . Had supper , went for a walk in a vain attempt to get thinner and back. I tried staying up until my eyes watered and I was stumped out by sleep .
Hey trust me this is not my life . It can't be so simple and non dramatic but it's monotonous making me miss moments in life in the race for future that's bright , ironically making me miss my present .
I would love suggestions . Will continue updating .
