Prologue

   So... I have cancer.

But you see, the good thing is -- there's a cure for cancer.

But then again, there's also the bad thing -- It cures your cancer, then it takes away your sanity. It makes you go crazy. No one knew that, until, after I had taken it, and a hundred other cancer patients in this hospital.

I wouldn't say it's the doctor's here that's at fault. It's the man who created this so called 'cure' because he told everyone that the cure works perfectly fine, nothing bad happens and probably a whole bunch of other shit.

Well. It doesn't, work perfectly fine.

I'm stuck in this hospital, trapped, with a whole bunch of other ex-cancer-now-losing-sanity-patients. Lucky for other cancer patients, in the world. This cure exclusively only came to this hospital, first. Of course the news of this 'cure' making people go crazy, losing themselves, turned off other hospitals, and they didn't order or ask for any of it.

It's not like they can have it, even if they wanted to.

So, me and every other cancer patient in this hospital that has taken the 'cure' have been moved around to make it more comfortable for the staff to keep an eye on us. They also have nicely, told, and asked other patients who aren't cancer patients or haven't taken the cure to leave.

Yeah, they left. In a hurry, I mean come on, who wants to stay in a hospital that has a bunch of insane people? Or almost-insane people. I'm in a room with four other people, one boy, three girls. Jasmine, Tay, Vincent, Carly. Jasmine, is twenty-six years old. Tay is fifteen. Vincent is nineteen. Carly's thirty years old. I'm eighteen. We're all strangers, we met each other four hours ago, when we all got roomed together.

"I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I FEEL IT! It's creeping into my mind. I'm not okay. NO! I'm fine... I'm fine... I'm fine... ahahah..ha..ha.." Carly went on whispering then yelling out some parts to herself. Carly was perfectly fine an hour ago. Then she became like this.

"We're all going to become like her?" Tay questioned, us or maybe even herself. Tay bit her lip, as she looked at the slightly shaking Carly. Carly was still whispering to herself, but I couldn't make out what she was saying.

"I'm sure we'll-" Jasmine got cut off, by Vincent.

"We'll probably end up like that. Even If you don't want to face it." Vincent said, he didn't seem scared at all in my eyes. Then again, before the cure, he was the one with worst case of cancer. He was ready to die, he prepared himself. Then this 'cure' came out, and he was all-in. Sadly... It's not a one-way trip to healthy ville.

Jasmine looked at Vincent, and understood. We're doomed, pretty much. Jasmine sighed, and decided to turn on the TV to pass time. "Erin." Vincent mumbled, he was next to me, so It was easy to catch my attention, without the rest of them notice much. I looked over at him, to give him my full attention.

"A room, with five strangers. One of them is losing their sanity, one is terrified, one says everything will be fine, one who's the asshole.. and You." Vincent said, he cleared his throat quickly before continuing what he was saying. "What do you think? How do you feel?"

"You're not an asshole. You were just ready, and you still are." I said honestly. I looked at the white walls for a second before replying to the other part. "All I hope is, no one is a fucking idiot, and accidently does something with it."

"Thanks. I guess." He said, "You mean, 'The cancer cure apocalypse' 'Kills the whole world!' 'We'd expect zombies! Not this!' Something like that?" He smiled.

"You're welcome. I guess." I mocked him, "Yup. Zombies ain't shit."

"Are you mocking me?" Vincent glared at me, playfully. "Resident Evil. Maybe we should call that cure a virus?"

"Am I?" I smiled, for a bit. "I watched the movies. I believe the situation we're in is a bit better for the whole world. Don't you agree? Hm... We could."

"You guys should get married. Then you two can say you didn't die, never-married. If you're virgins might as well have sex too. We don't have all the time in the world." Tay joked, about us.

"We're just talking!" Vincent and me said at the same time.

"See? Match made in heaven." Tay teased, I blushed, luckily for me, it passed before anyone noticed.

At the time. It was fun, and I wished it didn't pass by so quickly. I wish everything didn't go to hell so fast. I was having fun... even in that situation, it was fun. I ended up laughing. But... It didn't last.
