Pride
This is what inspires me
Directing my whole life
Ensuring I don't stoop so low
As to lick anyone's boots
The boots that kick me occasionally
This is the spirit that makes me
Feel very special indeed
Appreciative of my African pride
Or is it real, this feeling?Pride can be a powerful destruction
An enemy within itself
A hue and haze in the alert eyes
A big block in the sharpest mind
It recoils like a striking snake
With fangs so dangerous
Ready to destroy innocent
And not so innocent souls
What is pride really?Nightshift
When rape is inevitable
Just relax and enjoy it
Easier said than done huh?
This is just a glimpse
Of just what to do
When life doesn't go our way
We've got to take the extra mile
Even if it means taking the nightshift. There are no offdays in life
Those struggling still do
And the high in society
Still maintain their calibre
The decision lies on each individual
Whether to take the steps
Making the sacrifice
Of meeting life head on.I am
For I am the first and the last
The loved and the despised
The prostitute and the virgin
The mother and the daughter.I am the arms of my mother
I am barren and my children are many
The married woman and the spinster
The woman who gives birth
And she who never procreated.I am the consolation
For the pain of birth.I am the husband and the wife
And it was my man that created me
I am the mother of my father
The sister of my husband
And he is my long lost son.So always respect my magnificence
And for being who I am.Memento
Your words are still clear in my head
How can I forget them
When they mean so much to me?
I can't forget you either
All the moments we shared
Now you're gone forever
Only your friendly ghosts
Are here to keep me company.I can't bring myself to the reality
That I'll never see your face again
Nor hear your voice ever
Because you are no more
And I can't find you,never will..
I can only hope
That you're in the safest
Of all places ever existed. You promised me
That you'd be my guardian angel
I believed, still do
Miss you so much it hurts
But all in all
I can't forget your inspiration
It fills my heart with joy limitless
Your memory,my memento.Cheeky cheeks
Fat cheeks
Oily cheeks
Smooth,rounded
Yellow cheeks
Very bitable indeed
Glowing with happiness
When you smile
Those cheeky cheeks.Bright, cheerful cheeks
Smiling mischievously
Always up to something
Cheeks that makes one turn
Attracting everyone's attention
Cheeks that make laugh
Yes,they make my day
Those cheeky cheeks.
