Ohohoho~ Actually got inspired to write this by a dream I had xD

Chapter 1 - The Invitation

"elle..."

"ochelle!..."

"Rochelle! Wake up!" I was suddenly aware of my best friend Elixia's screaming voice as she violently shook me out of my wonderful dreams. I blinked several times trying to fully awaken and collect myself but that was hard considering my friend was still shaking me.

"I'm awake! Stop shaking me or I might punch you." I yelled and tried forcefully remove her arms away from my shoulders. I glared at my slightly hyper friend, her big green eyes were shining with excitement. Her chestnut brown curly hair was jumping around her shoulders before it calmed down. 

"What time is it?" I groaned and mostly just wanted to go back to sleep. This was a day where everything was doomed to go wrong, don't ask. It was just a feeling I had and it was making me grumpy.

"It is time for you to wake up and stop being lazy!" She answered and proceeded to jump in my bed. 

"Stop jumping and just tell me the darn time." I scoffed and threw a pillow at her. She really chose the wrong time and day to wake me up brutally.

"It's eight o'clock but don't you remember what day it is today?" She said still smiling brightly, showing off her perfect white teethes. 

"It's just a normal day?" 

Her face fell slightly and she gave me the look 'Don't tell me you don't remember it'. She jumped off the bed and walked over to the caledar I had hanging on my skyblue walls. She pointed to a big red circle that was colored on the day 25. I looked at it several seconds before everything fell into place.

"Oh yeah. It's Skyprince Alexios engagement party today." I said clapping my hands together. My friend and I were one of the selected who got to attend the party. It was being held in a giant, I don't know what to call it... Castle in the sky? Hence his title Skyprince. His father was the king of sky and soon Alexios was going to become the king of sky. 

The king had a whole kingdom up in the sky which his great great grandfather had build when he was young. There is about 100.000 people living up there in the sky and only 100 of them would be picked for the party and then they would invite 50 people from the earth. So it's a great honor for us commoners to be picked. Especially for my friend and I. We aren't exactly from the richest streets where does snobby kids live. 

"Yeah it is! Now come on, mom and dad managed to collect enough money for us to get makeovers and pretty dresses." She squealed in excitement and jumped up and down on the floor like a child waiting for presents. 

"They don't need to pay for me, I have saved enough money by working." I tried to smile, those last months had been like a nightmare. I had worked non-stop at several different jobs to make enough money just to buy a dress. I didn't have any parents that could help me, my mother got sick of me and left me when I was 6, I have never even met my dad so he couldn't take care of me. Luckily for me Elixia's family welcomed me with open arms. We had met in kindergarten and became friends in an instant. 

"Don't be ridiculous! My mom and dad are only happy for us that we got picked for this and are more  than willingly to give us money." She walked over and forcefully dragged me out of bed. I let out a groan but did as she wanted and stepped out of bed.

"It just feels like I'm sucking money out of you guys." I sighed and went over to our shared closet and opened it. 

"No you aren't. We're family, you're a part of this family." She gave me a smile and dragged out one of her pink spaghetti strap tops and one of my black skirts.

"Here put this on, it'll look great on you." 

"Thanks." I mubmled and took the clothes out of her hands. She was right, we acted like we were sisters. Her mom and dad had also told me I could call them mom and dad if I wanted. We were a happy family and I loved it here. Still it felt like I was intruding and just freeloading. 

I dressed quickly and let Elixia do my hair. She was super good when it came to fashion and hair. She loved to pick out my outfits and do my hair. Today she went for curly hair, my black hair was usually flat or really messy. To use and easier word. It was boring but it always looked amazing after Elixia had touched it. I swear her fingers were magical sometimes.

"Done!" Elixia smiled satisfied as she finished my hair. She had put my hair into a ponytail but let my bangs hang freely. She had curled the hair in the ponytail and the bangs that hung down from each side of my face. 

"I love it!" I exclaimed and turned around to hug her. She giggled and put the brush and hairspray away.

"Now it's time for our make-up and dresses to be done and bought." I groaned slightly at that. I'm not the type who loves dress fitting. This day was only an exception. 

"Can I eat first?" I asked as my stomach made an awefully loud growling sound. She was about to answer when hers also made a a growling sound, quieter than mine but I still heard it.

"I take that as a yes?" We both burst out laughing and headed downstairs to see if there  was any food we could eat. Our stomachs growling impatiently for food.

"Oh my hairspray!" Elixia gasped as I stepped outside in a skyblue dress. It was one of the dresses that I actually liked. Mostly because it was colored in the color I loved most, skyblue or babyblue as someone called it. 

"Is it that hidious?" I asked slightly worried and turned to look at myself in the mirror. I gasped too, this was probably the fifth dress that I tried and it was a clear winner. I looked drop-dead gorgeous and it isn't often I say that about myself! 

"You look faboulous." Elixia said, her eyes still big. The dress was strapless and sat tightly around me to the hips where it flowed down elegantly until it reached the floor. 

"I love it." I muttered unable to take my eyes away.

"Now that our make-up, hair and dress shopping is done. All we have to do is wait for them to pick us up." Elixia squealed. I couldn't help but let a smile slip onto my lips, this was getting quite exciting. I was still wondering how the sky kingdom would look like. My mind was picturing it as a big castle, like the one you saw in farytail movies but I knew it wouldn't be like that. Funny if it really was though. 

"When are they picking us up?" I asked trying to hide that I was almost as excited as her at this point. I had just changed from the dress to my regular clothes again. She looked at her clock and paled.

"10 minutes. Oh my hairspray! We have to hurry home and get our shoes and purses!" She yelled and sprinted towards the exit. 

"Wait! I have to pay for the dress!"  I yelled after her. She quickly turned and ran over to the cashier throwing some money on the counter.

"Is this enough?" The surprised cashier faintly nodded and took the money from her.

"Keep the rest!" Elixia yelled as she dragged me out of the store.

"Now run as your life depends on it." And with that she sprinted of with her dress. I sighed in frustration, it was so typical us to have little time on us when there were some events we needed to attend to. I picked up my pace and ran all I could, trying to catch up with her.

Hopefully we would make it in time.

I just had to write it... I had a dream about this and when I woke up I just had to write it down and put it up here! xD
