Jack and Annie leaved the hospital after spending the last days there after the life threatening bus ride. They got out in the fresh air. It was a pretty cold evening.
"God, I can't believe mom called 36 times!" Annie said and made Jack laugh. "Well, I wish my mom could call me."
"Why can't she?"
"She' dead."
"Oh, I'm sorry" Annie said and laid a hand on his shoulder. "But, you're dad then?"
"He doesn't care about me." Jack laughed, a cold laugh without any meaning. "But a bunch of collegues have called..."
Soon a little smile spread over his face, and he gave Annie a kiss. They got quiet for a moment and just looked at each other.
"Now what? It feels so dumb to do something normal after something like this. Like the normal stuff have lost its meaning."
"I totally understand."
"I guess we should go home. You maybe want to come with me?"
Jack gave her a big smile.
"Yeah, that's probably a good idea. I will dream nightmares about buses if I sleep alone tonight." They laughed. "And, I want to be with you..."
Their eyes met. Annie got lost in his beautiful brown eyes. She smiled, and then reached after his lips. "I love you."

As soon as they got home, they threw off their clothes and went to bed. Annie's bed was pretty small, and they had to lie tight.
"Small bed..." Jack mumbled to himself.
"What?!" Annie laughed, which made him laugh.
"Oh, it's just a small bed, which is good. Probably that means that you don't have or haven't had a man in your life."
Annie laughed out loud. "Ha! You should know..." Jack smiled and burried his nose in her hair. He stroked her back.
"Didn't we agree to base the relationship on sex?"
Annie turned around and looked at him in the darkness with a smile on her lips. "We did..."
"Wanna start right now?"
"Yeah..."
They began to kiss, and soon both were moaning silent. Jack went up from her side and laid down over her and kissed her neck. Her eyes were closed, and Jack really enjoyed her warm breath in his ear. He stopped, and they looked at each other. He stroked her cheek.
"You... I think I want to base so much more on this relationship than just sex. Maybe that theory about relationships based on intense experiences never work, is just bullshit."
"Hope it's bullshit" Annie answered with a smile before they started to kiss again.

The next morning they woke up by the phone ringing. Jack just mumbled something and pushed Annie up from the bed before he laid down again.
"Oh, what a gentleman" Annie said with hoarse morning voice and went to answer it.
"Hi, it's Herb McMahon, from the police. I'm searching for Jack. He's there, right? He doesn't answer at his place. I thought you two probably had something on its way when you were lying in that train snogging. It's miss Porter, right?"
"Yeah, that's me. And, yes, he's here."
Herb laughed and asked her to give the phone to Jack. She did, and Jack sat up on the bed.
"Hey, it's Herb!"
"Hi! What's going on?"
"It would be much easier if you asked what's not going on right now. I'm calling to tell you a few stuff. Firstly, I think you should take some week's rest. Second, Harry's funeral will be on Tuesday next week. You think you can come?"
Jack sighed, and his eyes began to burn of tears. "Yeah, of course" he answered with a bit unsteady voice.
"Great... And then I wonder if you could do some interviews today? They don't stop calling! And you can take Annie with you. People wanna know about the mysterious snogging couple in the train."
They laughed. "Well, I guess. How many?"
Herb got quiet in the other end.
"How many?" Jack asked again.
"Well, five..."
Jack sighed but smiled to himself.
"And all the other days then?"
"That we don't know. We'll see, but it will probably be some extremely crazy weeks now..."
"Didn't you say I would take some rest?"
"Yeah! But just from the missions. We need both you and Annie. People want to know what happened."
"Don't they already do? I mean, the camaras were following the whole thing..."
"Yes, but they wanna hear it from YOU."
"Alright."
"And we want to give you another medal. No cop has ever done what you did... We will give the passengers for their courageous actions too."
"Sounds good! When?"
"In the assembly hall, Saturday, 11 o'clock next week."
"Okay, I'll there, of course. You, I have to go now. Bye!"

"It's cold..." he said and ran back to Annie in the bed.
"You will get a medal" he said and stroked her hair.
"What?"
"Yeah. All the passengers will get a medal for their courage."
"You will get one too, huh?"
"Ha-ha, yeah..."
"How many do you actually have..."
"I don't know. A few."
"A few?"
"Yeah... What do you want to do today?" Annie sighed.
"Nothing actually. I have to call people and tell them I'm not dead." Jack laughed and she smiled. He krept closer to her, felt her warmth against his skin. Suddenly Annie began to cry. "It all feels so weird!"
Jack hugged her tightly.
"I feel like emtpy inside. Like nothing longer has a meaning after this shit! I'm so confused!"
"Don't cry... It's okay... I totally understand what you mean. But I promise, things will feel better later."
He stroked away her tears and looked into her wet eyes. When she saw him everything suddenly felt better. She understood that Jack was the only one that made her handle the situation on the bus.
"Don't leave me" she whispered.
"Why would I?"
"Don't know. Just don't do it..."
Jack kissed her cheek and tasted her salty tears. "I won't..."
