Hey guys so this is Eventide under a new name! I'm re'releasing it to hopefully generate some interest and spark something in me that will reinvigorate me to continue the story.

The boy sat on the stump. His eyes were clouded by hurt and pain. He had loved her. The accident had taken so much from him. The mist swirled around him, and the trees swayed gently with the breeze He felt the hurt, the loneliness. It had been his fault, she was so upset he did not know what to do. Anna had heard about the other girl, the one who had meant nothing to him. A twig cracked next to him. Like an apparition she came out of the fog. It was Trina. The one who had caused all of these problems.
Hecould not rid his mind of the image of twisted metal, the shreds of clothing, but worst of all, one of her shoes in the road.
It all started that night at the night at that party, he had had a little too much to drink. He had kissed Trina, and felt so many things while he kissed her. Then he woke up in the morning. On his friends couch. He didn't how he gotten there or what had happened.
Trina approached him and scooted onto the crumbling stump next to him. He didn't respond. It was his fault, all his fault. He couldn't stand the emotions that haunted him now. Trina whispered quietly,
"Are you okay?". He didn't respond. She wrapped her arm around his shoulders and he felt a violent surge of warmth. He jerked back in surprise and revulsion. He was not revolted by her, he was just revolted at him. Revolted by the stupidity and the booze and the strange way her touch affected him.
She looked at him, hurt. He hurriedly explain, "It's not you, its what I've done, the pain I caused." She looked at him with tears in her eyes,
"I get it, I guess. I know how badly you must feel because I'm going through the same thing." His reaction was violent, " You have no clue what I'm feeling! I loved her! She was my world. When you, sober as hell, convinced me to hook up with you you ruined my life! You made me kill her!" She looked at him taken aback.
"What the hell are you talking about? You loved it! And speaking of love, you didn't love her, if you had loved her you not have hurt her like you did." She gave him a glare that could freeze fire, and stormed out of the clearing, her black hair swinging angrily.
He watched her leave, with a strange mix of numbness, and...... regret? No that couldn't be right! He did not feel any affection for her. Why should he? She had destroyed Anna, his life, his soul. He stood up, unsure, and stared at the forest floor.
A snail inched along the forest floor. Its slow steady pace was like a beating heart. His beating heart. He thought back to the day, the day where everything changed.
~~~~~~~~
He cleaned himself up and began walking home from his friend's house. He had a massive hangover and a ton of regrets. He drove unsteadily home and slipped the key into the lock, wincing at the loud music blasting from within the house. He dragged himself unsteadily up the stairs and gently eased himself into bed.
He had drifted into the peaceful blackness when incoherent voices flew at him, jumbled by sleepiness. He pulled himself out of his stupor to focus on the sound above him. Slowly the words came through, " ...how could you do this to me... wasn't I good enough for you..?" He cracked open his eyes and stared at her in confusion. Anna. Her face was livid, her breathing heavy.
He rose out of bed and rumpled his hair. "Honey", he tried to say. "Don't honey me! You are the biggest disgrace of a man that I have ever seen. How could you do that to me! And with my BEST friend. And its all you fault, now shes mad at me and you because you seduced her." He was on his feet in a flash. "How dare you say that I seduced her. I was wasted and she charmed me. That's why I don't usually drink, ya know" He was practically yelling the entire time, though it made his head pound. She looked at him, doubt and disbelief barely concealing her pain. " I don't believe you"
"Why should you..... we both know you've done it to me. You call me a liar but I say it takes one to know one" A powerful emotion washed over her face and she spun to leave. "This conversation is going nowhere at all. I'm leaving and I wont be back."
With that she was out the door. It was the last time he would ever see her.
