Nolan's POV
I watched as Mason crossed the hallway to the room I was just in. Knowing Mason he watched Sprayberry drag me in there and now he's trying to figure out where I went. He wouldn't know what was coming. Dylan was never predictable. But when it comes down to it, nothing ever was.
Baseball was like that, a team would go into a series, play 7 games and whoever won 4 out of 7 games, won. Then there's the regular season where they play 3 games, and if a team wins all of them it's called a sweep. That's what Dylan wants. Dylan wants to beat us three times. He wants to have a sweep.
Mason came rushing to my car right after school.
"Nolan!" He was still breathing hard, assuming there was no baseball practice.
"Yes?" He threw his arms around me at my answer, my eyes narrowing.
"I thought..." He breathed in again.
"I thought Dylan hurt you." He rushed out, after looking over his shoulder.
"No?" I was confused, what had Dylan said that would cause him to think I was hurt.
"Oh. Well he said that he-" His mouth shut as a hand was placed on his shoulder.
"Hey friends." Dylan let out, hoping to strike a nerve, which didn't work.
"Hey, asshole." Even Mason was surprised at my choice of words. Dylan's hand was brought back from Mason's shoulder, and crossed his arms.
"Well, this was fun. But I have to go home my mom-" Again Mason was cut off by Dylan, only this time it was his fist connecting with his nose. Mason groaned, before standing back up.
Suddenly Dylan was laying on the ground, to Mason and I's surprise. Dylan tried to get up, only to have his chest pushed back down my black shoe.
"What did I tell you about messing with my girl?" Oddly there was no group around. But the words my girl, set Dylan off. I wasn't anyone's girl, and Mason was as straight as a strike. But there was only one person who would call me his girl, and he had made his way back into town. Dylan's worst nightmare, the baseball teams pride and joy, and Mason's best friend after me.
He shook his black hair, and looked over at us, his brown eyes gleaming.
"So, Posey is back. Whose happy about that?" He smirked, as Dylan moaned. I rushed Tyler with a hug, leaving Dylan even more pissed off as he got up.
"Wait, Dylan." He whipped around as Posey and Mason gave me a weird look.
"Yeah....?" Dylan walked over to me, and narrowed his eyes. Obviously suspious, but not suspious enough.
I leaned in like I was gonna hug him, confusing the three boys, but he leaned in anyways, to be met with my hand. I slapped him hard enough to cause a bruise, I knew that as his hand immediately went to his cheek.
"Don't you remember? Don't touch Mason." He stomped off, glaring at Mason as he walked away.
"That's what you call a sweep, my tiny puppies." Posey said earning a laugh out of Mason and I.
"Now let me see that nose of yours, Mase." Mason walked over to him, and Posey tilted Mason's head, examining it.
"Well put ice on it and it'll be fine. Now who wants to go terrorize Nolan's parents?" He laughed pulling Mason to his car, as I got in mine.
