Chapter 4: Help

Chapter 4

I suggest we start moving its 12 o’clock now and who knows how long it will take for us to reach the base. He said looking down at me on the ground with no pity at all.

What is your name? I asked while finally getting the strength to get up off the ground.

You want to know my name? Not such a formal greeting I suppose, but yeah my name is 

Louis.

 Oh well Louis I’m not as weak as you take me for. I said in a sassy way while bending over and letting Sammy climb onto my back. 

We will see about that.

 We come out of the tent and we wait about 5 minutes for Louis to put away his tent so we can start heading towards his base.

 Are there more people at your base? 

Yeah there’s a lot. Women and children, we almost have a 

School going. We are doing to best we can we are still are running low on supplies. We do have at least a good year going with the supplies that we have now but you can never can be to sure. So that’s why I was sent in. I guess they won’t be to happy instead of going and getting more food for our people I go and bring another mouth to feed. He says smiling. 

Well I can go on these ‘’raids’’ with you so it would probly be easier. I know what’s its like out here so I could be at good use.

 I don’t know about that Angie they like to keep the women in the base so there safe. 

I will be safe I have survived out here on my own for awhile.

 The thing is Angie its just not about you anymore its about everyone once you become a citizen at my base. 

Louis said stopping and t turning around to look at me.

 Can’t you like talk to the head people to see if you could give me a chance? If things get to rough and I just become a burden then I won’t go on any and I’ll just sit around and do whatever the women there do. Okay? I said.

 He stood there for a moment thinking. Okay fine I’ll try and talk to our leaders to convince them to let you come on my raids.

 I was actually happy to go back here in the wilderness once I finally get a safe place to stay with other human being and a safe place for Sammy, I must be a little crazy.

I put Sammy down for a while so I could give me back a rest. We walked about a good 15 miles now and me and Sammy both are getting really tired.

 Louis can we stop for a little and rest?

 No we have to keep moving I don’t want to stop then it gets dark and we will have to spend another night out here with a child.

 I let go of Sammy hands and I walked up to Louis with anger in my eyes.

 I’m just asking you to let us rest for a couple of minutes. It won’t take that long.

 No he yelled one last time. You are fowling me so you are going to listen to me. We have more then 40 more miles to go and if we stop now we won’t have enough day light to keep going. 

Shouldn’t you have like a flash light of some kind? I said yelling right back at him.

 I do but its for emergency use only I’m not going to waste it on a girl who wanted to rest  because she was tired. H e said in a mocking loud voice.

 Then Sammy started to cry. 

Angie shut her up before some of those things come after us. He says pulling out his hunting knife.

 I ran over to Sammy and held her like a baby to try and shush her up, but it wasn’t working she kept crying louder and louder. I turn over to Louise and saw a zombie behind him.

LOSUIE BEHIND YOU. I screamed. 

He quickly spent around  and stabbed the zombie right in the head. But more came one after another. I ran towards Louise with Cry Sammy in my arms.

 There’s to many. I said in a scared voice. Louise outs out his gun and starts firing it at zombies. One gun shot after another and they kept coming. I finally got Sammy to stop crying but it was to late there were already more then a dozen zombies after us. I turn around and there’s a zombie right behind me. I scream and the zombie jumps on me. I use all my strength the keep the zombies mouth away from me. But the zombies saliva starts dripping into my face. I scream for Louise to help me. He came and knocked the zombie off of me and shoots it in the head. Then out of no where 3 zombies come and jump on Louise’s back and the remote for the shot collar I was wearing falls out of his pocket. Louise is faced down with 3 zombie on his back. I get up and pushed one of the zombies off. But the zombie hopped back up and started coming towards me I lose my balance and fall to the ground I scoot back from the zombie as it comes towards me. I shuffle threw the leaves to find something while I was scooting from the zombie. I find a dull pointed stick but I have no choice but to use it. The zombie lunges onto me. But as he does that I point the stick towards its head and it goes into it‘s eye. But the zombie is still moving so I start pushing and pushing on the stick deeper and deeper into its eye intill one final push and the zombies stops moving.

 Louise now up on his feet and Sammy was far away from what was happing, but I was still able to see her. I go and run towards Louise. While I was running towards him I stepped on something really hard and it cracked under my shoe. I look under my foot to see I had stepped on the shock remote and I had broken it. But before I could say something to Louise about it I was shocked hard and I fell to the ground. Louise had killed off the last zombie and came running towards me. Angie are you okay. Joining beside him was Sammy. Louise lifted me up a little but quickly dropped my head back onto the ground when he felt the electricity flow throw my body and into his hand. He cursed under his breath.

 Angie your going to be alright okay he slide the hair out of my face and he looked into my eyes with care and sorrow. He took off his backpack. And took out a leather jacked he had. He quickly

Put on the jacket and lifted me onto his back. While he was lifting me up I was shocked again and so was he, but I felt it the most it felt like the shocks were getting more and more unbearable for me. I was finally on his back and we started again. He looked over at me and whispered He was sorry and he was going to get me better, And that was the last thing I remembered of the journey to the base. Because the last shocked knocked me out.

 I had finally waken on a wooden table and there were 3 men amongst me I hadn’t had a clue who there were our the fact on how I got here in the first place. Then I felt a Strong shock in my throat. So strong that I started coughing up blood from it. I wiped the blood from my mouth and laid back down on the table. The world felt like it was spinning around me. Louise came up to me and I felt relived to see his face. He put his hand on my hand and said everything will be alright your strong. He pulled out a long machete and out it towards my neck. Fear kicked in and I started to shake. He came to my ear and said. Everything I will be alright Angie, Sammy is okay and soon you will to just trust me. He pulled the machete back out. But then I was shocked again and passed out.

I had waken again in a small room there way sun light peering throw the window so I knew it was morning time. I reached up and touched my neck. It was really sore but the collar was gone and finally I  could relax. Then I heard a knock on the door. 

Who is it?

 Its us Sammy and Louise.

 Come in and I couldn’t help smiling seeing that Sammy was okay.

 The door opened and in ran Sammy and she comes and jumps on my bed and Louise standing at the door. He Looks at me closed the door and came in. 

 Im so happy your safe. I said hugging Sammy. And thank you Louise for Saving me.

 Don’t worry about it. It’s the least I could do I didn't want to be the casue of death of someone again.

Again? I ask puzzled

 It was kind of my fault I should if never out the collar on you I'm sorry.
