Chapter 1

      I recently moved to a new house with my mom, grandmother,and younger sister or as some people say my twin. "Come get more boxes Naomi," my mom said. "Okay,"I said. Once I brought the boxes in to the house I went to my room and started unpacking my things. I put all my clothes up first but before I knew it, it had gotten late so I fell asleep on my unfinished bed.
       "Hey Naomi wake up mom said to finish unpacking your things because we are having guest come over later," my sister said. "Okay,"I said. Before I went go finish unpacking I went down stairs to eat breakfast."what's mom cooking?"I asked. "She's cooking pancakes,sausage,eggs and bacon,"my sister said. After I sat at the dinning room table, I ate my food and went back to my room to finish unpacking.
     If you had not noticed, I'm Nay. Short for Naomi, I'm a junior, I'm 16 and I'm on the drill team at Clearlake high. But everyone thinks too much of me and I just want to be the quiet girl no one knows like I was before. I know all girls my age want what I have but once you get it you will wish you hadn't became so popular.
      That girl that just talked to me was my sister Hazel. She's not the typical sister, yes she's annoying and agitating but she's the type to stick with you no matter what. She's in 8th grade and is very quiet and not known by many people. Lucky her.
I bet you guys all thought I would be so thankful to be popular, well you thought wrong. My sister isn't so happy about being a quiet girl either. Imagine if she was me and I was her, that'd be nice. "Nay hurry up," my sister bugged. "Oh my god, can you just leave me alone to unpack?" I gave her a look. "I would, but where's the fun in that?" She smiled gently. I smirked and walked down the hall to my moms room and asked who was coming over later. She said it was someone we knew a long time ago.
   I went back to my room and continued unpacking.
"I think I know who's coming over tonight..."my sister came in and said."who!?" I said."remember your old best-friend? I heard mom talking to his mom about coming over since they live here too,"she said. "Oh my god really?"I said surprised. After my sister and I finished talking I got ready for breakfast and organized my room a bit more.
After a long day of unpacking and organizing I checked the time and read 6:45. I went to the kitchen to help my mom with dinner then someone knocked on the door. I opened it and saw two teen boys and one little girl with their parents. "Hey Im Naomi come in," I said. After the parents walked in, the first boy that walked in looked familiar said his name was Dashaun, he was tall light skin and seemed athletic. The second boy was Darius he was a bit darker than his brother he was short and seemed like a wanna be bad boy. Then last but not least their little sister Kylee she was 5 and such a cutie.
     I closed the door after they all came inside. "You guys can take a seat if you'd like, my mom is almost done in the kitchen," I gave them an awkward smile.
"HAZEL COME HERE ," I yelled. She came down the stairs then went back up. Then my phone buzzed and I saw a text from her telling me to come here so I went upstairs to ask what she needed and she said " I knew it was them! But where did the little girl come from?"she said."His mom was pregnant when they moved," I said."But It's been 5 years since I seen Dashaun and he was cute then but damn he fine now," I laughed and said.
After my sister and I finished talking we went down stairs for dinner and my mom asked "do you remember them?""yeah,"my sister and I said."was-sup nay, long time no see,"Dashaun said." I know right it's hard not seeing your best-friend for 5 years,"I said. While everyone else were mingling Dashaun and I went to my room. "I missed you," he said."I missed you too,"I said."How you been, did you find a girlfriend here, how are the schools here?" I asked. He smiled and responded "I've been good, no I'm waiting on the girl I've been waiting on for years and they are okay."
     Later that night my mom called us down to eat dinner. We all sat at the table quietly until I finally broke the silence." Come-on guys we've known each-other for forever and y'all don't have anything to say now,"I said."I don't know you,"Kylee said." I don't know you either but I saw pictures of you when you were born but we never really met, I'm nay short for Naomi and I'm your brothers best-friend,"I said. "I'm Kylee,"she said."nice to meet you kylee,"I said. She got up and came gave me an hug. "I'll be right back, I'm gonna go help my mom bring dinner out,"I said.
      Once I got into the kitchen I saw that my mom had went cajun and made Crawfish Étouffée, steak, greens, rice and a side salad with rolls. It all looked so good, I already knew that they would like it. "Time for dinner,"my mom said as we walked in and sat the food on the table. We all fixed our plates,
We are and we started a conversation about what we were doing within the 5 years we didn't talk or see each other but after that it was pretty late so they were about to leave.
       Before they left I said my goodbyes."see you later cutie," I said to kylee before I gave her a hug."Daruis,"I said then gave him a look."bye,"he said before walking out the door after his parents and kylee. Last but not least Dashaun was waiting,
I gave him a hug and kissed his cheek and said "bye best-friend goodnight.""He kissed me back and said goodnight." By the end of the evening I was drained out of energy, so I went shower and then to bed.
The next morning one day before school starts my mom, sister and I went last minute school shopping. "What do you think you need?"my mom asked us when we got into the car." I don't know maybe 2 binders,a few notebooks, some pencils and paper,"I said. "Same but probably one binder for me though,"my sister said. We went to Walmart first then to Academy to get me some practice clothes for dance. After all of that we went back home and I asked my mom if Dashaun could come over.
     I had took a nap then at 7:34 someone woke me up my jumping on me in bed."wake up sleepy head,"Dashaun said."ugh I'm up,"I said. When I was fully awake we started talking about who this mystery girl was."so who is this special someone you've been waiting on?" I asked."You'll find out,"he said.Later on that night we changed the conversations from that mystery girl he likes to school being tomorrow. When Dashaun left I put on some shorts and a tank then I got my clothes and supplies ready for school, after I did that I took a shower and went to bed.
