Sleeping Beauty

Natsu POV

It has ben a year since the last Grand Magic Games. Of course we entered this year. (And won) But today I have been sitting in the Waiting room in the hospital. She was having problems breathing. Before I could finish my thought the doctor came over to Erza, Grey, and I and said "I am sorry to have to tell you this but Lucy has lung cancer."

When he said cancer I felt my heart sink to the bottom of my stomach. I have so much planned for us to because after we won the game I was going to ask her out on a date. It was going to be perfect.... we were going to go swimming, have a picnic by the pool and sleep under the stars.

"Are you sure nothing else happened while you guys were in the games?" asked the doctor. "No nothing we can think of." answered Gray

"Well come to think of it Lucy did come to me on the 3rd day and was having a hard time breathing. She was wheezing and coughing. I thought she ether had a cold or worked to hard while fighting but I was wrong." I answered.

"Its okay but that does help a lot" he answered and walked back behind the desk.

I run up to the desk and ask if we could see her. He nods but only says 3 people at a time and she will look different. I thanked him and left to tell Erza and Grey.

"Hey guys we can go in to see her but he said she would look different." I say trying not to tear up. They both nod. But Erza stops me outside Lucy's and asks "Natsu I dont know why but I have a feeling that you had something special planned for Lucy after the games... am I right?"

"Yes you are. I has going to ask her out I thought it would be right but..." I trailed off. Erza smiled and they headed into the room. I could see Lucy all hooked up to machines and there seemed to be more machines than Lucy herself.

When she saw me she smiled and I blushed. I walked over and sat next to her on her bed. I held her hand and looked into her eyes, Erza and Grey sat next to her also in those last few minuets that she was still breathing.

About 10 minuets later we are all crying and we hear the machines deep, Lucy closes her eyes and stops breathing.

I now cant hold it back and I let the tears roll down my face and say "Lucy  I should have asked you sooner, but will you be my girlfriend?" crying even more. I feel Erza holding my shoulder. I get up rom the bed, letting go of Lucy's hand, and walk out of the room. I only make it so far before I run back in and give Lucy a big kiss on the lips.

I back away think it would wake her like sleeping beauty. But no such luck. I walk back to the door way.

Then I hear the machines start too beep and hear Lucy start to breath again. I yell out to the guild in the waiting room. They all come into the room and suddenly we all dont fit. No one wants to go near Lucy but she points to me and i walk over and sit next to her.

"Hey I see your back" I say

"Yeah and I have an answer for you." she says

"An answer for what?"

"I have an answer that I would love to be your girlfriend." she says with a smille.

I blush and start to cry again, I reach down and kiss Lucy. In the background I thought that Mira was going to pass out.

Once I get up all the other guild members tell Lucy to get better and leave to go out on jobs. After they leave its just me and Lucy. She moves over in her bed and I hope in with her and we spend the rest of the night in the same position.
