Foreword.
This has not been written for pleasurable reading, nor for my pleasure of writing the book, it has been written to educate you, the reader, as to what to do in the case of a breakout of the Solanum virus. The solanum virus in short infects the body, sends it into an induced coma after which the victim is dead, the virus then reawakens the body under the virus’ control and the victim is no longer recognised as a human, the victim is no longer in control of its own thought processes and cannot be trusted or tamed, it has only one objective, attack all sentient life, kill it and feed on it. The ‘zombie’/victim cannot be cured, and since the virus does not need blood to function, it cannot tire or be killed by anything other than destruction of the brain.
Although the events are fictitious, the characters are real, I have based their reactions to events to what they have said, their knowledge of zombies and their personalities, the events in the book will follow our survival plan to the letter and also include some events which cannot be planned but will happen in this scenario, the solanum outbreak. To avoid any legal matters, the surnames of my characters will not be disclosed and some may only be referred to as nicknames as they do not want their names disclosed/used in the novel.
This is a first person account from my perspective, I will be the only character who’s first and surname is disclosed, as I have said, this is meant to educate, but, if you decide to ignore the impending threat of a solanum virus outbreak, you can imagine that these events will not occur and this is all fictitious.
Please note: This novel is based on the works of Max Brookes, author of World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide. We have based our plan on his books and his definition and description on a zombie and the processes taken to infect a human, if the zombies we face in an actual outbreak are not to his specifications I apologise in advance for any deaths or misguided adventures you may undertake to survive as long as possible, but ultimately you should not be using this as your metaphorical Bible in these circumstances as I am likely to be wrong and no one can predict what the zombies will be like or how the virus, if it is a virus, will transfer from one person to another, or whether or not it will affect animals. I have also purposefully made a few mistakes from which you can learn and we have edited out of our plan, this is so that you can see what to do in a clearer fashion and so you do not make the same mistakes.
If the events described in this book do occur, I will disclose all advice in the book, read it carefully, and, may I also wish you good luck, and give you this advice now, only trust your group, do not allow others to join your group, plan it now. Again, good luck.
