TEAM CORAGEOUS
Chapter 1
READY
April sat at home. Feeding her little sister. She heard a knock at the door and froze. They had come. "I'm not ready." She thought. Abby looked at her,"I'll go with you." She smiled, finnishing her meal. April smiled,"Alright." She said. April opened the door, seeing 3 spartans there. They took off there helmets,"April Hart?" They said. "Thats me..." April whispered.
"Come with us." He said, smiling. She looked at them with shock,"B-but my sister, Abby was on the list too." She said, not letting go of her sister's arm. The sparten looked at the list again,"She isn't though." He said. "She can't stay here though! We don't have a mom or a dad to look after her! She NEEDS me!" She argued. Abby just stood silently.
The Spartens looked at one another,"Give us a moment to talk about this." He sighed. April nodded. She hugged her sister,"I won't leave you." She said. "I know." Said Abby.
Chapter 1; READY
Part 2-
Jacob Starred blankly at the floor of the Pellican. He looked up and saw April and Abby walking in. Abby was clutching her sister's shirt. Jacob scooted over, giving April and Abby room to sit. A man came with 3 trays with Bread, peanut butter, and milk. "Eat up," he said,"We still have a long way to go..." Jacob nodded, making his sandwich and drinking his milk. "I'm Jacob Davidson." He told April. "I'm April Hart." She replied, smiling. "Are you ready for this?" She asked. Jacob smiled,"I was born ready."
Chapter 2
AIM
"Hello and welcome to UNSC." Said a man as April got out of the Pellican. Abby hard on her heels. "I am Lyon Markus. Captain of the teams." He said. "And in no time. You all will become Spartans." He raised his hand in salute.
"First off, is Aim. Shoot the target in front of you. Who wants to go first?" Lyon asked. No one volunteered. "Okay. Davidson. Get up here and show us what you can do." He said.
April watched as she saw Jacob walk up. Lyon held out a magnum. Jacob took it with no hesitation. Lifting the silver gun into the air and pulling the trigger. You could hear the shot echoing- No, rippling through the whole room.
When April opened her eyes, she saw a hole. Right in the center of the bulls eye. She was the first to clap followed by the others. Lyon patted Jacob's back, taking the gun back. "Alright. Hart. Your turn." He said. April and Abby looked at each other. "Which one?" She asked. "Oh we have sisters?" He asked. April nodded. "Lets see the six year old go first." He said. Warmness in his eyes. April pushed Abby foward, making Abby give up her grip on her shirt. Abby walked forward, fear in her eyes and her face turning red.
Abby gripped the cold metal gun in her hands. Her hands shaking. Lyon leaned down and steadies her hold. "Now just align the Bulls Eye with the rim." He whispered in her ear. Then Abby pulled the trigger. The bullet busting through the target, missing the Bulls eye by inches though.
"Very good for such a young girl." He praised. "Alright April. Your turn now. And that shall be all for Aim." He said. April Walked up. Everyone starring at her. Her breaths were quick and soundless. Everything was getting dizzy and it felt like a slowmotion clip. Her foot steps sounded like echoing explosions in her mind. Her hand reached out to grab the cold metal. But she hesitated. Her hand pulling back. Lyon smiled,"You can trust this gun. But others are untrustable." He said. April nodded. She grabbed the gun, the warmness in her hands vanishing as the coldness froze the blood inside of her. She raised the gun up, aligning the gun with the Bulls Eye. Both eyes open and then... Boom. The gun jerked into the air, inches away from her nose.
She opened her eyes to see that her bullet, went right through Jacobs. A perfect shot.
Abby began clapping. The loudest out of them all. April's breath felt like it was caught in her throat. Her mouth was opened a crack. Then Lyon's warm hand on her shoulder broaght her back to reality. "Well done." He praised. April got back with the group and hugged Abby. Then she began to think,"All it takes to kill an enemy... Is aim."
Chapter 3
FIRE
Jacob was surprised to see that April had done so well. Amazed by how the bullet went right through his hole. Lyon had began leading the children to another room. The doors opened to show metal walls and ground. There was wooden enemys moving around. "Now the next thing, is Fire, without hesitation." Said Lyon, his gaze flickered to April for a split second then back on the kids.
"Everyone grab a gun over there," He pointed to a table with twelve Magnums and a plentyful ammo supply.
