Atlantis

Prologue

I felt the warm sun's rays and the cool water lapping at my ankles, I was looking in a tide pool when something reflected the sunlight from the bottom of the pool, I reached down and picked it up, it was a beautifully carved black stone pendant on a silver chain, the stone was carved to look like a tiger shark, Whoever made this must have been looking right at a tiger, he or she got the body right, the teeth right, the fin placement right even the stripes where perfect, I thought in amazement, I looked around and put it in my pocket and started to walk home.

I was on Facebook creeping a girl I like, I read her newest post,

At the cafe with my bestie!:D

Attached to the post was a picture of Gray and her friend, Gray had her orange shoulder length hair in a ponytail, she was wearing a green hoody and blue jeans, her friend had her long brown hair laying loosely, she was wearing a black T-shirt with her favorite band on it and gray shorts, I don't recall the bands name but they were Australian,
I sighed and closed my laptop and put it on my nightstand, I pulled out the pendant and studied it for a little bit then I put it around my neck, I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

I woke up and sat up so fast I smacked my head on the shelf above my bed," Ow" I grumbled," What woke me up?" I asked myself quietly, then I felt it, a surge of fear and panic but I didn't know why, but I didn't even think about what I was doing, I was getting dressed and I jumped out my window, What am I doing! My bedrooms on the second floor!, I thought, I grabbed a tree branch and swung from one branch to another like I was Tarzan, I hit the ground and rolled then regained my feet and took off running, Where am I going?, I thought a little panicked, before longer I could smell the sea, I kept running even when I got to the beach, after a twenty minutes of running I stopped at a tide pool, I sat down but I wasn't even a little bit winded, I was staring into the pool when a small white fin broke the surface and I felt a wave of fear roll over me, I slide into the tide pool, it came up to my waist, the fin change direction and headed straight for me, when it was about three feet I realized that it was a young albino Tiger shark, To late to get out of the pool, I thought, with out thinking I said a single word in a language I didn't know," Štrônk" and the shark stopped moving, then it moved slowly towards me until it was inches from me, I slowly reached my hand out and stroked the top of it's head," I'm going to get you out of here and to somewhere safe" I promised.

I arrived back at home with the shark pup in an old bucket I found in the back of a pickup truck, I went into the pole shed and found an empty holding tank, I lowered the bucket into the water, when it was fully submerged I turned the bucket so that the shark could swim out, I removed the bucket from the tank and walked over to the fridge to get some fish for the pup, I hand fed the shark pup, it was so gentle that I was surprised it didn't take off my fingers, I turned the pup over and determined that it was a male," I think I'll name you ghost" I said with a chuckle and the shark made a nodding gesture, I smiled then went back inside to go to bed.
