Chapter 3-"You want to challenge a daughter of Athena?"

Chapter 3

Winter's POV

"Demigods?" I asked.
"Yes. I'll explain everything later." The blonde girl replied. "But for now, you guys take a ride."

The chariot lowered, inviting us to come over.

"How about my car?" I asked.

"I asked someone to put a protection spell on it and bring it to somewhere else." The guy on the wheelchair said. "That should be the least of your worries because it is in good hands." He smiled, showing wrinkles at the edge of his eyes.

"Are you coming or what?" Leo asked. I was surprised to see that the three were on the chariot, waiting for me.

"Oh yeah." I said, climbing onto the chariot.

"By the way, if you were wondering." The blonde girl started. "I am Annabeth Chase. Daughter of Athena." She greeted as she smiled. She still looked scary, especially when way up close when you see those stormy gray eyes.

"Pleasure to meet you." I smiled back. But then I realized what she said. "Daughter of Athena?!" I exclaimed in disbelief.

"Yes. I'm a demigod like you. Half mortal, half god." She still kept her smile, but it seems like there was something bothering her. Like she's not really happy.

"What do you mean?" Piper asked.

"It means," the man spoke. "One of your parents is a mortal while the other one is a god."

"You're joking." Leo blurted.

Annabeth's eyes darkened, but she still kept her smile. "Believe it or not, it's the truth Scrawny Boy."

Leo's eyes widened. "What?! Don't call me that!" She rolled her eyes.

"If I may ask, what's your name sir?" Jason interrupted as he asked politely to the guy sitting on a wheelchair.

"I'm Chiron." He replied.

We reached to our destination safely. I got out of the chariot and scanned the surroundings. As I walked, the sand under my feet sprinkled away.

"Where are we?" Piper asked.

"You're at home." Chiron replied.

"Can you be more specific?" Leo asked.

"You're in Camp Half-Blood. A place where demigods are to be trained and safe from all monsters like the one you saw a while ago." He replied. I scanned he surroundings a bit more. I was surprised as when I looked back at Chiron, he wasn't anymore sitting on a wheelchair. He was a centaur.

"But h-how." I stuttered, looking for the right words. "That's impossible. I'm dreaming right?"

"No, you're not." Annabeth said. I looked at her. She looked like she had a dark past. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I also have a dark past.

"How do you know who your god parent is?" Piper asked.

"Later, at the campfire you'll be claimed." Chiron replied, clopping his hooves on the sand, becoming a little restless.

Suddenly, something appeared on top of Leo's forehead. It was floating like a wisp which was a hammer that was burning.

All of our eyes widened. "Son of Hephaestus." Chiron was the first one to speak up. "The god of fire and forgery." Leo looked on top of him and saw nothing.

"There's a floating hammer on top of your head." Piper said, stifling a laugh. He waved his hand on top of his head, confused.

"You guys are probably joking!" He still kept on waving. "You're trying to make me look gullible." He glared at us.

Annabeth sighed. "He still won't believe."

"It takes time." Chiron replied, retreating from the beachy place. The hammer on his head faded.

Annabeth went beside me. "What's your full name?" She asked.

"I'm Winter Solace." I replied, making her eyes widen in horror. "Why? Is there something wrong?"

"This can't be." She said, making me more confused. "Will has a sister?" She told to herself and ran away.

What the hell was that?

Will? My brother? Is that the boy mom was talking about?

I went beside Piper, Jason and Leo, feeling absolutely confused but I quickly shook those thoughts away. "Son of Hephaestus ey?" Jason started, elbowing Leo at the side.

"That's why you were good in driving!" I guessed, probably saying it too loud because they snapped. "Forgery is related to machines and the car is a machine."

"You're right." Piper agreed, making me smile a little.

"Jeez, I feel like puking after everything that has happened today." Leo said, grasping his stomach.

I understood how he felt. Confused and scared... Which is not a really good mix.

If I were Leo I would feel exactly the same. First, the monster, second, having the knowledge that we were demigods and then third, the claiming?

Will's POV

"I think she's your sister." Annabeth said.

"I?" I pointed to myself. "Have a sister?"

"You don't even need common sense to know if she's your sister." She rolled her eyes. "First, you guys look kinda alike. Second, you have the same last name."

"You need to give me three reasons, lady." I said a little pissed.

"I don't need to give any more reasons, Solace." She replied, placing a hand on her hip.

"Okay whatever you say." I replied. "But I still won't believe you. And why would my mother name a girl Winter, when she's a daughter of Apollo?" I joked.

"I am going to interview her." She said, ignoring my joke. "And ask Chiron for a general meeting later at night." She folded her arms. "You'll see. You want to challenge a daughter of Athena?" She raised any eyebrow, daring.

"It's worth the risk." I said.

I remember that mom promised me that I will be her only one. Her only child.

"Okay, Solace. I'll see you." She said dismissively. But she kind of had a glint in her eyes, like she had a bright idea. I know that she has a plan.

"Sure. Bye, Chase." I said.

I went back to the Apollo cabin and lied down on my bunk. My eyes started to close until someone opened the door and comes in.

"Will. It's time for Archery training." One of my half-sisters said. "Do you want to bring Winter? Annabeth suggested it."

"You want to challenge a daughter of Athena?"

I replayed that scene in my head, just making the voice a little girly.

"Sure. Can you go ask her? You could also guide her to the Archery place." I said. She nodded and went away.

I went to the cabinet, choosing my materials for the training. I placed a bow, finger tabs, arm guard, arrow spacers and everything you need for archery in my bag.

Let's see, surname stealer, if you really are my sister.
