"So who do you choose?"
It was the first day of tenth grade. I woke up early, for me that's six, and got ready. With little to no sleep last night I was exhausted but able to stay awake due to my nerves. Grabbing my crop top and jean shorts I made my way into the bathroom. My room has two other inhabitants, my sisters Allison and Morgan. We started sharing a room ever since Caitlin and Emily came to stay with us. My parents are really big on giving back to the community and foster kids whenever they can. After changing in the bathroom I walked into my room seeing the twins doing each others hair. "Allison! Morgan! Why are you up school doesn't start until nine for you?"
"We heard you in the bathroom and decided to get up." Morgan says looking up from her work for only a minute before continuing the complicated braid. Instantly I felt guilty for waking them up and decided to be quiet so I didn't wake the other two up.
"Since you're up can you move so I can get to my makeup?" I pleaded starting to push the air mattress out of the way.
"Yeah hold on a second." Allison waited until Morgan was done before getting up. "There." My Maybelline mascara laid on top of the jewelry box and after putting on a few coats I deemed my look good. I can't stand wearing a ton of makeup but mascara is my essential. Heading downstairs I peeped into the other room and kissed Caitlin and Emily on the forehead. I'm not a breakfast person so I normally drink my coffee and I can survive till lunch.
"Hey honey," My mom mumbles wiping her eyes. "I have a present for you on behalf of a new school year." I groaned expecting another coloring book or gomu erasers. "You have to promise to take good care of it."
"I promise to take good care of whatever it is." I sighed expecting a baby present that I would have to pretend to like.
"Here." She made me close my eyes and put a rectangular box in my hand. Opening my eyes I looked down in shock.
"MY VERY OWN IPHONE?" I shouted my face beaming. I opened the box revealing the iPhone 6s plus.
"Shhh...Yes your father and I decided you could use one." My mom said excited that I truly liked it. My sisters all have the iPod 5 but I was told I didn't need an electronic because I was older and had my own MacBook. Partially listening to her speech on how her baby was growing up I started downloading all of the must haves; Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube. "Kamryn are you even listening?" She asked when she was done.
"Yeah..." I spoke with uncertainty.
"What did I just say?" She prompted trying to find an excuse to take back the phone I inferred.
"I don't know...'' I mumbled feeling guilty for a second time that morning.
"Well you better get going to the bus stop if you want to get to school on time." She calmly responded opening the front door. I grabbed my hoverboard and headed down the street.
"OMG you look so cute!" Liv said to me once I got to the bus stop. Liv has been my best friend for about as long as I remember. She has always been the girly girl and my brunette rock. That's a joke between us because I'm blonde and she's a brownie.
"Thanks you too." I said pulling out my new phone waiting for her reaction.
"YOU GOT A PHONE! YOU KAMRYN NICOLE?" She shouted earning a few stares. I noded cautiously waiting for the heads to look away. Liv is super popular, like queen bee, but I'm not up there. According to Liv I'm in the twenties. Being popular has never appealed to me and I prefer to just have a group of friends instead of a bunch of followers. Then I saw him he gave me a head nod before being pushed out of the way by my best guy friend Ryan.
