"Victoria! Victoria! Stop, hey wait up!" Victor shouted at his sister, trying his best to catch up with her quick steps.
"Sorry big brother! You gotta keep up, c'mon slowpoke!" with a cheerful giggle Victoria ran a little faster. Running out into the street she gazed with wide, awed eyes at the wonderful world around her. The loud noises, bright lights, the busy people and unusual smells that filled her senses all fascinated her.
"Oh man. This place is so cool. Cool. Cool. So cool!" She giggled and hopped in place, full of excitement and curiosity, standing still was simply impossible. Victor soon caught up to her, out of breath and exhausted he bent and grasped his knees.
"Look at this place! It's so big and beautiful! Nothing like back at home, huh?" She turned to face her brother who was still panting; feeling worried she reached into her traveling bag and took out a water bottle. She opened the bottle and handed it to Victor. Grateful, he thanked his sister and gulped it down. "Geez, what would you do without me big brother?" She smiled and turned back around to observe the people walking by.
Wiping his mouth he jumped up and pointed at Victoria "I'm not your big brother and you know that!"
"Yeah, but i figured if you were older I'd look younger being two times cuter than i already am."
Victor glared at his sister and blinked a few times, "but" he paused "We're twins."
"Yeah, and."
"And we look exactly the same!"
"So."
"So, I don't think people are gonna believe you're the younger sibling."
"I don't understand."
Victor stared blankly at her, wondering if she was just this clueless or acting dumb to get him worked up. Yet with the look of confusion on her face it wasn't hard to find his answer.
With a heavy sigh Victor stood up straight and walked beside her, looking up at the unfamiliar world. "Well brother, what do you think?" Victor looked at his sister with tender eyes and and smiled. Taking her hand in his he looked back up "I think we've found our new home." Victoria's face lit up with excitement as she squeezed her brothers hand in hers and looked up to the sky.
Time passed as the two walked, the streets were getting even more crowded than when they first arrived. Not letting go of her brothers hand Victoria was being shoved and pushed every which way by passing people; her brother not noticing kept his eyes focused forward and pushed on through the crowd.
Victor stopped and looked at his watch "It's getting late." He looked behind him at Victoria who's excitement and energy was draining low, she needed sleep. "How are you holding up?" asked Victor in an emotionless tone, she did not reply. Letting go of his sisters hand he knelt down and looked up at her; his sharp yet tender eyes caressed every curve of her body looking her up and down, he sighed.
Victoria didn't move nor did she breath her eyes lifeless and blank, she stood as if she were in a trance. Smirking, Victor stood up and held Victoria in his arms pressing his lips ever so softly to her forehead "I know, the atmosphere here it's difficult to withstand." Looking at the sun now setting he picked up Victoria and continued to walk, he investigated the area as he ventured out.
The streets grew empty and the sky darkened Victors heart began to pound in his ears, he started to sweat and his body began to ache. Unable to move any further he found a dark ally and leaned his back against the cold, brick wall. He very gently placed Victoria on the ground and sat beside her. Knees up he leaned his head down, his vision began to blur as he stare blankly at the ground. "No, not now, not like this." He began to cough uncontrollably thick, black liquid began to spray between his fingers as he clasped his mouth.
When the coughing died down he removed his hand from his lips and gave a light chuckle as he rubbed the sticky, tar like liquid between his fingertips. His eyes went in and out of dialect he looked towards Victoria she had blood stream down her face like blood tainted tears, impure and unclean. Worried, Victor rushed to her face and began to wipe the blood away only to result in smearing it across her face. He began to panic when the blood started to stream down faster and gush out in more quantities it seamed like a never ending red sea.
"No, no, no please no not her! Don't you do this! Stop it now!" Victor began to yell hysterically, shaking his head violently in disapproval. "Stop this now, you don't own us anymore!"The blood that flooded out engulfed their bodies causing a small like puddle underneath the two, Victor began to cough viciously almost throwing up the black tar.
"STOP THIS FATHER!"
. . .
A moment passed as Victor sat there in a fusion of black blood, the only sound of his heavy breathing filled the emptiness of the dark alley. Unconsciously Victor fell into his sisters lap and the sound of his breathing stopped as did his heart beat.
