"Shit," Kaya groaned. "Scar, wake up."
I sighed and rubbed my eyes.
"I have a butt cramp," Kaya shouted.
"Wow, that sounds great," I replied sarcastically.
It had been 5 months since I left home for college with my best friend Kaya. I was happy here, happier than I was back home. My dad used to hit me, sexually abuse me and I had no other choice than to run. Nobody knew about the relationship I had with my dad. Nobody, except for Harry Styles. Yes, famous boyband member Harry Styles. Before he went famous, we texted. We texted because a girl gave him a wrong number, which happend to be mine. And I told him about my dad and he told me he was falling for me. Until my dad found out. He asked me, who Harry is and then started beating me up. I screamed as loudly as I could, hoping somebody would hear me. The police arrived minutes later. When they asked my dad, what happened, he said that he didn't know. But he knew exactly that he did this to me.
I was being brought to the hospital, where I had to stay for one week. The worst thing about it, was that my father told me to stop talking to Harry. And to block him. So I did.
Then he and his band made it to the X-Factor and one month before I left for college, I texted Harry again, to discover that his number was no longer available.
The thought of him always made me sad, because I had feelings for him and he had feelings for me, but now we broke contact.
I shook it off and went to the kitchen to make breakfast. My lecture would start in two hours, so I still had time left.
Kaya showered while I made breakfast. I told her about Harry, not about my father though. She had been really understanding and supportive. We shared this flat for five months and we didn't have any problems, which was great. We had been best friends since childhood and had been through everything together. Nothing could break our bond.
We ate together and then left for college. We parked the car and got inside. And then a long, exhausting lecture began. While the professor was talking, Kaya showed me something on her laptop. It was an ad for One Direction's concert. I shook my head. Of course, seeing them life would be cool, but it would only break my heart, knowing Harry probably forgot about me and I broke contact with him. I could've kept texting him. I didn't, so it was all my fault. This whole thing.
"Oh come on," Kaya said quietly. "I know, you're dying to see him."
"He probably doesn't even remember me," I replied, just as quietly as she did.
"Of course! Don't say that! How would he not remember you? I mean, you probably broke his heart," Kaya said.
"Wow, thanks for cheering me up."
She rolled her eyes.
"It's too late, I just bought tickets and we're going!" Kaya said.
"Alright, alright," I replied, annoyed. But I wasn't really annoyed. More like... nervous, I guess?
Harry had seen pictures of me. What if he saw me? How would he react?
Kaya was right. You broke his heart, I thought to myself. He hates you. That evening, I stared at our old conversation. I could still be texting him, if I wouldn't have stopped talking to him. I was so stupid. I was just mad at myself.
I groaned and locked my phone.
Life is so complicated.
