Chapter 8

The meeting

When we stepped in the house, Esme ran up to us and hugged us at the same time.

"I was so worried. Are you guys okay? Is the girl okay? Carlisle told me what had happened." Alice nodded and explained her the details.

5 minutes later Rosalie came through the door. Her expression was furious. And she was shaking but tried to control herself around Esme and Alice.

"Rose!" Esme shouted with relief that her daughter was alright. Rosalie smiled at her then turned to me when I asked her a question.

"What happened after Alice and I left?"

"When me and Emmett reached Jasper the leech escaped but we caught him at the beseball field. Leah followed us there and called the other two, they are on their way there. While Jasper and Emmet are holding the one who attacked the girl." She told me with one breath.

"And Carlisle? Do you know something about him?" Esme asked a little bit impatiently.

"He was on his way when I left. Edward we need to go. I think it's going to be a fight." I nodded. I was excited that I coul tear Jacob Black apart, though Alice and Esme looked quite the opposite. They were worried about their imprints. I could understand that feeling now. I felt a tightening in my chest as I thought about Bella. Was she okay?

Rose's voice snapped out of my thoughts. "Esme, Alice you need to stay here. Don't worry about us, just yourself. Got it?" They nodded.

Me and Rose went outside, she phased immediately and ran off. I took a deep breath and let the shaking take over me. I reminded myself one last time that I have to avoid thinking about Bella cause the others would hear it. I closed my eyes and heard my clothes rip apart. When I opened them again I was standing on four legs. With a howl I started to run.

I was the fastest so I easily caught up with Rosalie.
As we were running I listened to the others' thoughts. I saw in Emmett's head that he was the one pinning Jacob down, Jasper was keeping an eye on Leah while Carlisle was looking at the woods. Probably waiting for the other two.

We broke into the clearing at the same time when the two vampire. We formed a line, Emmet was behind us still with Black.

James and Victoria were sizing us up. While Leah looked like she was ready to rip us apart. Carlisle went back to the woods and changed. I went to change back too, nobody objected. We stepped in front of the bloodsuckers to talk. Carlisle didn't like violence, he thought every life was precious. He hoped we could sort this out without causing a war.

"I think we have a problem." Said my father with a stern voice.

James narrowed his eyes at him as he spoke. "I don't think so. He didn't bite anyone so he didn't break the treaty." I grimaced and the others snorted behind me.

"Don't be ridiculous! Everyone knows here what he was about to do with the girl!" I growled angrily. Carlisle looked at me, ordering with his eyes to keep my temper in check.

"Maybe you are right or not." He shrugged. "I couldn't blame him for it, the girl really has a nice scent. So sweet. Hmm." He liked his lips when he thought about Bella's taste. I had to bit back a growl. "The girl must be his singer."

"How do you know what she smells like?" Carlisle asked. I was curious about this too.

"I went to check out what did cause Jacob to lose his control."

"So do you agree that Jacob-" I hissed his name. "lost his control and was about to bite the girl?" I asked angrily.

"Yes, but he didn't broke the treaty so I hope that you let him go. We would move away from the area." He said sternly. I looked over to Carlisle who was seriously thinking this over. We couldn't trust them, what if they came back and hunt down Bella? Of course I would protect her but it would be better if we just killed them now.

"How do we know you leave and never come back?" He asked.

I looked over at James who rolled his eyes. "Of course your pack can follow us as we leave your land."

Carlisle was thinking this over and eventually nodded. I almost disagreed but he must saw it because he shook his head at me.

Seriously, they could still can kill people if they leave. What if they kill someone else's Bella? Yes they are vegetarian but I didn't trust them anymore. Not that I ever did. The only reason why he agreed to this because he didn't like violence.

They shook hands then Carlisle nodded to Emmett to let Jacob up. When he was standing with the others he turned to James.

"Why did you agree to this? We can easily take them out then I can taste probably the most delicious blood." I growled when he said this. He turned to me with a smug smile and continued. "That's right doggy. I would bite into her neck and suck out her delicious blood. And I would watch how the life leaves her eyes. You can't protect her. She would die because of-" I didn't let him finish. I roared and pounced on him. I phased while I was in the air.
