We had just moved here, into this nice city. My dad and my little brother is already comfortable here and it hadn't even been 24 hours. My little brother name is Jordy, he doesn't talk much. He always ask us "Where's mommy?" He'd be so broken if we told him.

"Are you settled in yet, Jane?" My father spoke.

I looked at him sad as ever, I left all my friends back at home. I had to start a new life here, in Houston, Texas.

"Yee, all settled in pops." I spoked with my New York accent.

I didn't grow up around the best environment, I didn't really speak correctly like my father so my accent was really strong.

My father smiled at me. "Jane, everything will be better here for you I promise. You'll see your mother in no time, and you'll make great new friends! "

Making friends really wasn't what I planned on doing. I didn't really have much friends back home, only Kay and Trinity.

"Yeah! I know." I hid my emotions with a big smile. I didn't want my father knowing I hated being here already. "Where's Jordy?" I say giving him a half smile, changing the subject.

"He's taking a nap, why don't you go for a walk? Get to know the area yenno!" He reaches in his pocket and pulls out some money. "Here's 50 dollars, buy what you want. It's only 2 o'clock, Jane, get out and explore your neighborhood!"

I jump up and give him the biggest hug. My dad was the best!

"Thanks pops!" I grab my sweater and run out the house.

The only thing I was thinking of was buying lots of snacks. I was walking around the neighborhood and noticed it wouldn't be so bad.

I saw the local grocery store and walk towards it.

As I was walking, a group of boys past by me and one happens to bump into me!

"Aye, watch where the hell you're going!!" He shouts.

I give him the most confused look.

"I-I'm sorry." I say. I studied him and realized he wasted his juice all over him.

"I'll buy you a shirt to change in! I'm really sorry."

He stared at me like I was the worst thing he has ever walked into.

"Just move out my way. " he smirks.

He was really handsome, a tall, buff, tan Caucasian guy. I'm partially mixed, but you can tell that I am black.

"Yo! I'll buy you a shirt so you won't have taah walk around all dey like dat!" I said.

He stared at me confusingly. The group of boys he was with walked up to us laughing.

"Aha! Her accent is so cute." One boy sarcastically says.

I rolled my eyes and walked away angry. That was the most ignorant, yet stupidest crap I have ever heard! Those boys were so witty and rude. Ugh. This place is going to be hell, let along I have school tomorrow. Great, just what I need. New city. New assholes!

I went inside the store and bought tons of snacks: dorritos, gummy worms, snapples, and three candy bars. I wasn't the most skinniest person, I have some really huge thighs but my stomach? I have no idea where it's at.

I made it back home safely and drama free. Those boys were total assholes! I still couldn't believe that they were making fun of my accent. I just hated being here so much already.

It was the next morning and I had to wake up 5 AM in the morning just to help things out. My father job was transferred down here in Houston so a job for him was nothing to worry about. I washed my hair and put it into a high curly puff ball. I rarely dressed up for school. I put on my high waisted jeans, and a tanktop. I went inside Jordy's room to check as if he was dressed.  I saw him dangling his feet on the edge of his bed.

"Jordy, ya ready for ya first day at a new daycare?!" I said trying to bring in some excitement.

He nodded his head "no" sadly.

"Awwww! Jordy don't be a bummah! Ya gon' make lots of friends and have fun! And maybe aftah daycare I'll take ya fa' sum icecream." I said making him excited.

He smiled really big.

"Would ya like that?"

He nodded his head excitedly.

It is so hard getting words out of his mouth. He started talking when he was 2, and then all of a sudden he stopped. Strangers who say hey, he just stare at them or cry. He's about to be 4 now. Jordy didn't have any friends in New York, maybe everything will be better for him here.

I picked up Jordy and walked out his room, the smell of pancakes and sausage flowed through the house. My father was the best cook!

We went downstairs for breakfast.

"You ready for daycare Jordy?" My father spoke.

He nodded his head excitedly. Good thing I still have an extra 40 dollars left from yesterday.

"Haha! Never seen him so excited."

"Yess, pops! Is it okay if I take him for ice cream after school? I'll go by his daycare and pick him up." I said.

"Yeah, fine by me. But are you ready for school yourself Jane?" He worried.

I sighed, knowing that Houston could be full of assholes. I wasn't ready but if my big little bro was ready than I was too!

"Yep, all ready here."

We finished our breakfast and headed out the house. It was now 7 o'clock, school started for me at 8. We dropped Jordy off at daycare, he took it so well, maybe because of the icecream after?

"Soon you'll have your own whip." My father jokes. By whip he means car, ya'know? Can't wait for that day I get to drive my own car. My father wasn't old he's only 39! Aha.

"Hopefully." I laugh.

I gave my pops a bear hug, grabbed my sweater, and hopped out the car.

I stood in front of the big 2 story building. I'm going to try my hardest not to speak and when I do, I'll try to sound like the Houstonians.

I walked around, I was as normal as everyone else, only thing would throw everyone off is my accent. I was so confused to where the office was at. I was scared to ask anyone. I stopped this short girl. I was 5'0 and she was just a little more shorter than me, she had big glasses and puffy hair. She seemed nerdy.

"Yenno whea's the office fa' ma' schedule?"

She stared at me awkwardly.

"Down the hall to the left."

I went as she said. Well, today seems like it's going to go difficult.
