CHAPTER 1

It was the last day of 9th grade. Erica rushed out of her science class, but her teacher Mr. Burton stopped her.

"Erica, Ms. Elkins needs help clearing out the art room. I know how much you love art so I signed you and Leah to go and help her."

"But Mr. Burton I can't, I ave to leave with my friend Tori at 2:30! That's in 17 minutes! Please can I do it tomorrow?" She questioned.

"Erica there is no school tomorrow, remember." Mr. Burton said.

"Oh, righhttt. Fine I'll do it." She groaned. So Erica and Leah walked to each of their lockers and put their stuff away.

"This is so stupid! She said as she slammed her locker shut.

"What's wrong?" Asked her friend Zachary.

"Mr Burton made me and Leah clear out the art room on the last freaking day of grade 8. Like seriously its the last day of the whole school year!" She screamed.

"Wow, we'll have fun. See you next year." He said cheerfully walking away. As Erica started to walk towards the art room she saw him. Her crush. The boy she liked from months. They were friend, they had met this year.

"H-hi Alex."Erica said shyly.

"Oh hey Erica. Can you believe it's the last day of school?" He said.

"No, it's insane to think that we're done our first year of high school." She replied.

"So any plans for summer?" He asked.

"Yeah I'm doing a lot of soccer stuff, oh me, Tori and some others are going to the Taylor Swift concert!" She squealed.

"That's cool." he said.

"Omg I just remembered I have to go! I promised Ms. Elkins I would help clear of the art room." She said as she ran off.

"Wait, Erica! I'll help." he said as he ran after her.

"Really?"

"Sure, it'll be fun."

"Ok let's go." he said with a smile.

As Erica and Alex walked to the art room, the met up with Leah.

"Alex what are you doing here?"Leah questioned.

"I'm helping Erica, why?"

"Because I'm supposed to be helping Ms. Elkins. Oh well if your here i guess I'll go, see you next year. Bye." She said as she left.

"Yes, it's just us," she thought. When they got to the art room there was a short, red-headed woman wearing a retro dress. It had to be Ms. Elkins, right?"

"Hi Ms. Elkins," said Erica."

"Excuse me? Who are you two?" Said the woman that looked exactly like Ms. Elkins.

"I'm Alex and this is Erica, we were looking for Ms. Elkins. We promised we would help her clean the art room." he said.

"Well I'm Mrs. Jerkins." She said.

"Well, you can say that again." Alex said with a giggle. Mrs Jerkins sneered at them.

"I don't know we're this Ms. Elkins is so you can go now." She said with a huff and walked away.

"So what should we do?" She asked.

"I don't know." Alex wonder.

"I know, how 'bout you, me, Tori and my friend Perrie all go to Starbucks!"

"Sure lets go now!" Alex shouted in excitement.

As the four of them walk along to Starbucks they met up with more of their friends, Karrie and Brayden. So it was the six of them all going to Starbucks. When they got there it was a huge line up.

"Why are there so many people! Whos idea was this any was!" Nagged Perrie.

"Calm down," said Erica," its half off on all frappés."

"Finally!" groaned Perrie as the made it inside."

After they had all order they pulled together two table and sat down.

"Whatcha get Erica?" asked Alex.

"A double chocolatly chip frap, how 'bout you?"

"I got a double chocolatly chip frap too!" Butted in Brayden.

Erica groaned. Her and Brayden had been friends since kindergarden, she couldn't get mad at him, could she?

Either way the six of them were having fun.

"Now what?" Tori wondered.

"I know, lets go to the athletic park." Everybody agreed and the six of them headed to the park.

"Hey I know a short cut." Brayden said.

"Brayden is it through Greenaway 'cause thats even longer." Groaned Erica.

"Noooooo," Wined Tori. "Erica the last time were there we go lost. Remember."

"Brayden are we really going through Greenaway?" Questioned Erica.

"Hehehe, yeah..." Said Brayden.

So Tori reluctantly made her way through Greenaway with the five others.

"Hey I know, lets swing on the swings." said Karrie.

"Swings are for babies. Last one there is a rotten egg!" Brayden sneered while picking up Karrie giving her a piggy-back ride.

"Brayden put me DOWN!" Shrieked Kerrie. Everybody was laughing. They were having a great time.

It was now five o'clock, three hours had gone since they got out of school.

Their summer was just beginning.
