Now before I start I personally don't rant on a regular basis, only on occasions when someone really p's me off or about Twilight. This rant is not about either.
Nay my friends this rant is about...(dramatic pause)...........
Season Ten of Criminal Minds!
(GASP)
NOW BEFORE YOU FELLOW Criminal Minds FANS RAGE ON ME! Let me explain.
First off, if you've read my one shots or my profile then you should know I LOVE Criminal Minds. If you didn't well then there's a fun fact for ya!
Anyway after watching season ten, which ended a LONG while back, I thought, in my own opinion, that it was very underwhelming. I have kept this distain for this season bottled up, and now it is coming out! So here we go!
Now when I first heard of Jen Hewitt coming on to play a character, I really didn't mind at first. In fact I didn't mind the first episode at all. But the little sub-plot, spoiler warning by the way if you haven't seen the season and plan to, this isn't spoiler free, is very predictable. This rant btws is focused on this sub-plot. One thing a criminal mystery should never be is predictable, at least not easily predictable. I'm no expert on criminal stories, but I do know suspense and foreshdowing are key factors playing in criminal genres. Let's get into deets. The main little sub-plot from episode one of season ten is Hewitt/Calahone's niece/daughter and her friend talking to a stranger online.

YOU ARE AN AGENT! YOU ARE RAISING THIS CHILD AS AN AGENT OF THE F**KING FBI!!! WHY IS YOUR CHILD TALKING TO STRANGERS ON THE INTERNET!!! SHE SHOULD KNOW BETTER!!!!*sigh* Sorry I'll calm down for a second but seriously. You'd think that an FBI agent would've taught the darn girl better. And in the moment we see that the girl and her friend are talking to guys on the internet we know, because the show blatantly states it right in front of us, that this will lead on through out the story and season. AND TO ME IT'S STUPID!
We know exactly what's going to happen! The girls meet up with the strangers, strangers kidnap them and BLAM! There's your season finale!*frustrated sigh* Not trying to get off subject but Season 9 of Criminal Minds is by far, nearly no competition, my favorite season. Reason.

It was unpredictable, and the villan wasn't revealed until nearly the end, and was foreshadowed, again in my opinion, very well. But in the season ten finale we knew from probably episodes before that it was someone who hated Hewitt/Calahone! And I just don't like knowing as quickly as I did. A criminal show should have you on the edge of your seat and the season finale and season Itself really didn't put me on edge as much as I wanted. There were episodes that I truely loved and are now some of my favorites but other than those episodes it wasn't memorable like other seasons. I blame the Character Kate Calahone, not Hewitt but Calahone. I really didn't connect with her character, in fact she was the shortest character to uphold the postion she had in the BAU. And if you can't relate to characters then you don't really care about the characters. And this show is pretty character driven. You want the team to succeed but Calahone, I was hoping she'd get in trouble or something so they could take her out of the team, I stopped thinking that when she got pregnant though. And couldn't care less about the freaking daughter/niece of Calahone. Calhone was a bad parent and FBI agent for letting her own child talk to strangers online! YOU ARE A PROFILER! USE YOUR PROFILE SKILLS TO SEE THIS! And the niece/daughter herself should know better because she was being RAISED by a freaking FBI agent and should know,"Hmm, if I do this and meet them I could probably get kidnapped." But ya know what she thought,"I wanna be a richard and disregard what my own guardian says! She don't know what she's talking about!"
Think you stupid teen!!!
*sigh even more frustrated* I think the season had it's special moments but it still left me underwhelmed. I've bantered long enough. Hope this was entertaining!
