There is a legend that circles through London every now and then about a flying man called Peter Pan. They say he will fly through your window at night and take you away to Neverland, a place where no one grows old. A land of magic and dreams, impossible beauty around every corner. Pirates and mermaids in the oceans with fairies and elves scattered through the lands. Gorgeous flowers adorning the forests, a child's fantasy to some extent.
But they couldn't be more wrong. You see, Peter Pan isn't a man. Peter isn't even named Peter, but Petra. Plus that whole flying through windows thing, no. She finds that quite creepy as a matter of fact.
But Petra doesn't just take you away into the night, she saves you. Well perhaps not you. She saves those who need saving, the sad little children who feel lost in the world. Who just want to get away, away from the stress of living, away from the weight they unwillingly carry upon their shoulders every waking moment of every day. Away from reality for longer than the drugs and alcohol allow them to. She saves the children that don't just want, but need to get away from their lives.
She saves them and takes them to a place called Neverland. Where they can live without that weight that everyone surrounding them pounds upon them. Where they can attempt to live happily and unjudged, within the walls of Tallest Mountain, or the trees of the Never Woods and so much more.
Can't you imagine it? Running along the shores of Cannibal Cove with all your lost boy friends, dancing among the stars in the forest with her? It makes you smile doesn't it? Yeah, well it should, being brought to Neverland is the greatest gift one can ever receive, but first you must believe. You must always believe, do you understand me? Believe that life will get better, believe that all the pain you feel now will go away in time. But most importantly, believe that Petra is real, and that she will come save you.
Just as she saved me.
