I lay in my bed. The rain had been pouring for 2 hours now. I was extremely bored.
I began thinking about the rain and the animals. I wondered where they went and what happened to the woods in the back while it was pouring like this.
I got a flashlight, a notebook, a pencil, and a bag to put everything in.
My roommate asked where I was going. I replied that I was going on an adventure. He was quiet after that.
No one ever got in the way of my adventures because they said I became crazy.
On my way out, I grabbed my phone. I wondered if I should also get my car keys but favored not considering it would get in the way of my studying.
The rain was cold when I got out. My jacket became soaked. I still walked on.
At some point I felt like I was being followed. I kept moving though.
It was my philosophy that adventure and knowledge were more important than anything.
Once I got in the woods I turned around. No one was there. I did not get worried or scared. I was not one to be scared easily.
I heard leaves rustling. I yelled,"Who's there!"
Obviously no one replied. Who would?
After a few minutes a girl around my age appeared. She had wet stringy hair and bright green eyes.
I felt something weird when I first saw her but immediately ignored it.
I asked her,"What are you doing here?"
She swiftly replied,"I could ask you the same thing."
"Fine, I came out here to do some studying."
She sounded close to laughing,"Out here! In the rain!"
"Yeah, what's wrong with that. Science is important rain or shine no matter the time."
"Right, and I should believe you because.."
"Because you followed me out here!"
She looked taken aback.
"What's wrong? You don't think I heard you on the way here?"
"I was curious where you were going." She replied with a small voice.
"Well looks like we'll be together for a while because there's no way I'm letting you walk back in that." I replied pointing at the forest exit.
"You sound like my parents. What's your name anyways?"
"Jones. Griffin Jones. What about you? Do you have a name?"
"Garret. Sophie Garret." She said mockingly.
"Well Sophie, ready for an adventure with science."
"You betcha." She said with a fake smile.
