I know that you, Ciel Phantomhive, have had quite the hideous past. I can see it in those deep blue eyes: every burden you've ever carried, every sorrowful night you've spent awake in agony, all of the anger held captive in your heart is reflected in that midnight hue. I can only wonder why you have encountered so much misfortune in your short life, and I can only imagine how difficult it must be to accept it. Even though you are forced to look into the horrid face of history every day, somehow, you keep up a strong facade. I know what lies beneath, though. You hide the darkest secret of all, you hide it from the world you must please. Even in the recess of night when all is supposed to be at peace, the memories haunt you still, like a ringing in your ears that never ceases, a child's high-pitched voice. They eat away at you, little by little, they slowly consume you. Your nightmares match your days...and part of me wishes that I could help in some way. But, all I am able to do is passively stand by and watch your tragedy unfold, watch while you sleep to discover just how troubled your mind truly is. - ☾
