Her name was Summer; she was wild and free.
And forever she will be a breath of fresh air to me.
She lit up the world, the brightest star in the sky.
Her beauty was unrivaled; I promise you, this is no lie.
Her hair flowed down her back like liquid gold.
I knew that we would always hold hands; together growing old.
Her laughter could constantly make me smile.
To reach her, I would run any mile.
With just a kiss on the cheek,
My knees would go weak.
Her eyes were brighter than the sun.
I knew that she would be my only one.
She went for a drive one night,
Little did I know, that was the last time I would be blessed with her sight.
A drunk driver came, and her life began to fade.
Her body would soon be entombed in marble, where she would forever be laid.
Without my Summer, everything seemed so wrong.
All I had left of her were memories, which filled my head like a song.
Never again would I be near her kind and gentle soul.
Losing her meant I had lost all control.
She was an angel on earth and now she will be an angel up above.
Never I will I forget her, my first and only love.
My beautiful Summer; I would never see her again,
Until who knows when.
Cherish your love like it’s your last day,
Because you never know when it might be taken away.
