Maddy's Story

Chapter 8

"No! I'm not riding the bus!" I yelled at my adoptive parents. "You can't tell her no." Carter said. "You can't tell her no." I mocked. "You will. Or you'll walk." Holly said. "Ugh. I hate you." I said grabbing my bag and marched out of the house. I waited at the bus stop until the bus came. It's my first day of high school and I'm riding the bus. Carter and Hailey sat up front while I sat in the back. I put my beats on and listened to BO$$ by Fifth Harmony. Then, I texted my dad.

MaddyWasHere: I wanna come home.

Daddy: We have to get the papers done first.

MaddyWasHere: How long will it take?

Daddy: A month at the most, but I'm nit letting you move until after cheer season. Don't worry though if your friend's parents agree, I'll buy them a house each and a plane ticket to get here.

I didn't text back because we were at school. I got off the bus and met with Kolby, who was a Junior. "Why didn't you call me? I would have picked you up." He said. "I didn't know." I said. Just then, Morgan, Megan, Emma, and Jakia walked up to me and smothered me with hugs. I showed them the pictures and videos I took with Ariana and my parents and Royalty. They were so shocked. "Bruhh. Your life is perfect." Megan said. "Not really.." I said. "Oh, I'm moving to Los Angeles after cheer season, but my dad said that he'll buy your parents a house each if y'all want to come with me." I said. We all squealed. Kolby's head dropped. "Its okay baby, we have a while four months together." I said. He smiled at me. I was way shorter than him. He kissed me on the cheek as soon as the bell rang for class. I grabbed my schedule out of my bag and looked at it.

1st Period... Agriculture
2nd Period... World Geography
3rd Period... Biology
4th Period... Speech
Lunch
5th Period... Theatre
6th Period... Algebra 1
7th Period... Education Training
8th Period... English 2

I walked outside to the Agriculture building. The teacher, Mrs. Nate told us about what we would be doing in that class and about FFA. Then, I walked back up to the building and to World Geography. Then, Biology which I had with Emma, Morgan, and Jakia. Then, Speech which I had with Jakia. Finally, I walked to the Cafeteria for lunch. I sat at the biggest table and waited to be surrounded by my girls. Surprisingly, Kolby was the first on to walk over to me. "You sittin with me today?" I asked. "Yup." He said taking the chair I was holding on to and relaxing himself in it. I giggled. "Sit right here." He said patting the chair beside him. I sighed and sat down. Soon, the table was full of my friends and people who were asking me questions about my real family and Ariana. I answered them, but soon got up to get in the lunch line. I grabbed a tray with meat loaf on it and sat down. I ate my food and talked to my friends. We went outside and sat on the long bench. I sat between Kolby and Emma. It was quiet for a while, but Jakia broke the silence. "Lets play truth or dare." She said. Everyone agreed to it. "Okay. I'll go first...hmm. Kolby. I dare you to tongue kiss Maddy." She said. I face planed myself. Kolby and I made eye contact as he scooted closer to me. Sure enough, he kissed me and stuck him tongue in my mouth. I did the same. We started do a little more then we heard the girls yell. "Okay! That's enough! Now stop before it gets R- rated out here." Jakia said. Kolby licked his lips and winked at me. The bell rang just in time. "What class do you have next?" Kolby asked me, going down the hallway. "Umm. Theatre." I said. "Me too." He said. We walked down the hall hand in hand. We walked in the . room and Jakia was already there. I smiled and sat next to her. Kolby sat next to me and this other chick in our graded named Alex, had the nerve to sit next to him, but he had his hand on my leg the whole time the teacher talked. I slid my hand over and put my fingers through his. The teacher got done talking and we walked out of the class. I stayed back and talked to Jakia while Kolby walked in front of us. The next thing I knew, this Alex chick was giggling about something Kolby said then she tried to grab his hand. I cut Jakia off in the middle of her sentence and slammed Alex into the wall. "If you ever try anything else like that again, I'll kill you." I said letting her go. She just stared at me. "Watch this." I said smiling. I then walked over to Kolby and kissed him passionately and long. He kissed back. I pulled away and looked at Alex. "He don't want you." I said. I grabbed Kolby's hand and he walked me to Algebra. I hate math period. I mean, I'm good at it, but I hate it. Kolby kissed me and walked to his class. I walked into the room and Emma was the only friend I had in there. I talk to everyone, but I wouldn't include them as friends. I took the desk beside Emma. "Hello everyone, I'm Mrs. Tittle." The teacher said. I looked over to see that she was already handing out papers. I groaned, but life goes on so I did the paper. After the bell rang, I went to my next class. During English, I was begging for the day to end already. The bell rang and I ran down the hallway. "What you doing today?" I asked Kolby. "I have football practice. You can come watch me." He answered. "I have to be there anyways. I have cheer practice." I said, pointing to my cheer bag. He smiled and kissed my cheek. "What was that for?" I asked. "That's where it'll say #12 every Friday night." He said. I realized his number on his jersey was twelve. I smiled and walked into the gym to change into my practice clothes.
