Splat awoke to the shivering of the husky underneath her wing and with a sigh, she gently pulled him close to her warm body.
'How could something with this much fur be so cold?' She thought 'it's not like it's sno-' she stops mid thought as a snowflake drifts onto her nose and melts instantaneously 'oh...'
She looks up to the sky watching more and more flakes drift down from above few clinging to existence onto the blades of blue grass. The husky stirs and she pokes her head under her velvety wing.
"Wake up sleepy head" Splat said as she nudged the shivering canine with her nose. The husky's eyes remained closed and he mumbles out
"I d-don't wanna." His teeth chatter softly from the cold.
'Fine' she thought as she got up to stretch her wings.
'We'll see about that...' She moved over to a patch of fresh snow, quickly rolling it into a ball and carrying it to Treble with her fore feet and waddling on her back feet before dropping it on his face. Treble awoke with a start jumping up and looking around frantically. Amongst the confusion, his grass shorts fall to his ankles.
She giggled at the husky "you better pulls those up." He quickly pulls up his makeshift shorts with a blush and cinches the belt.
"T-that wasn't nice" he said with a shiver.
"You're right" Splat chuckled "but it was funny." Treble glared at her with his ears pinned back.
There was a rather large grumble coming from within the seeker's stomach. Treble looked around bewildered.
"What was that?"
Splat lowered her ears and spoke " s-sorry" she said "I haven't eaten in a while."
"Oh" said the husky as his stomach grumbled "I think my stomach is in agreement with yours."
He looked up at Splat and asked "where can we find something to eat?" She looked around "there is a town about two days-" her stomach rumbled again "-travel away..." She lowered her head and frowned, feeling as if she might become drastic if she doesn't get something to eat. The husky's ears swivel towards the faint sound of hooves pounding heavily on the earth from afar.
"What the... Can you hear that?" He asked Splat who turned and looked in the direction where the canine's attention was directed.
"Hear what?" She asked and was quickly silenced by Treble.
"Are those...?" His eyes lit up and he bolted off in the direction and called over shoulder "come on Splat!" She ran after him briefly before unfurling her wings and taking off to look for him from above.
She spots Treble ,who is stopped just outside of the forest looking around, and glides down to him. Further she descends before spreading her wings out to their full extent to slow down.
Realizing of her distance from the ground she yelps and calls Treble pleading for him to move because she can't redirect her flight path. He turns around and it's too late, for as soon as he sees her they collide, sending him down to the ground with her on top of him. The force of the impact causes Splat to practically melt onto the stunned husky.
Slowly she reformed standing over him and shaking herself.
"S-sorry" she said as she lowered her head "y-you okay?" Treble looked up at her and nodded rubbing the back of his head.
"So that's why they call you 'Splat'" he said with a weak chuckle.
"Y-yeah..." Still  standing over him she raised her head and quickly dropped laying on top of Treble and making him cough.
"Shush!" She said lowering her head to just above the grass.
"What is it?" he quietly asked as Splat licked her lips.
"Lunch" she said with a wicked grin.
