"Miss Grey!" Dean Randy boomed, slamming his fists against his desk. My eyes flicked over to him, pulling me out of the trance I was under, and I focused back on him. "What do you have to say for yourself!?"
I blinked, "I dunno..."
"You don't know!" He yelled, leaning over his desk. His face was twisted with anger, and he whipped out a piece of paper, "Let's have a look here, shall we?"
"I, uh, sir I-" I stammered, but was interrupted immediately by him.
"You returned to this school earlier today, that's a plus," He looked up at me, giving a sarcastic nod, "You, uh, oh! Look here! You actually attended your classes!" He gave me a fake smile and applauded me, not hiding the sarcasm, "Bravo! And, oh look here... Tsk tsk, you pinned a fellow student to the floor while you continuously beat her almost to death!"
I sighed, swinging my legs back and fourth as I looked around the room anxiously, not making eye contact with him. I had nothing to say, for there was no excuse as to what I did. I know what I did, I just don't know why I did it.
"Do you have anything to say for yourself!?" He shouted again, startling me.
"N-No sir, I'm sorry," I stuttered.
He shook his head, resting his head inside of his hands as he mumbled, "Go, now."
"Go where?" I asked softly.
"To the in school center!" He yelled, pointing to the door. I sighed and nodded silently before standing up. I excused myself from his office and shut the door silently, leaving him to deal with my files as I walked down the hallway.
"S-She just... pounded at me!" I heard someone stammer, and as I approached the doorway it was heard from, I found Jessica. She sat on top of the medical chair as the nurse tended to her wounds. Blood still trickled out of the scratch I had made on her cheek, which I now saw were deeper than I had thought, "I... I d-don't know... It w-was like s-she was possessed or some shit!"
Jessica shook her head, tears streaming down her face as she continued on. I listened to her story, but I didn't feel sympathy for her. Not after all the mean things she's done to me.
"I-I don't know!" She shrieked, more tears spilling from her eyes, "S-She was just so m-mean... And," She paused as her tear filled eyes met mine, and she let out a loud scream as she stumbled back off of the chair, "Get her out! Help! Somebody help!"
The nurse quickly scurried over to the door way, glaring at me as she slammed the door shut in my face.
I rolled my eyes and made my way further down the hallway, turning into the small room that held a few desks inside. I looked around, finding a young female teacher tapping away on her phone.
"Hi, I'm Madison," I said softly.
She glared at me. "Sit down."
"Uh but don't I-"
"Shut up and sit," She snapped at me, pointing to one of the few desks that were lined perfectly straight. I widened my eyes at her response but sat myself down, playing with my thumbs as I waited anxiously for her to speak.
"Alright," She chomped away at her gum as she lifted a piece of paper, "Let's see, honor student getting into a fist fight? And actually winning?" She arched an eyebrow at me, "Bravo.. Well, you know the rules. No leaving, no talking, no anything. You can do whatever you want on that little phone of yours, but don't leave the room until the clock strikes four. Got it sweat pea?"
"Uh don't you have to stay?"
She laughed, "Hell no, it's finally my shift off! I get to live my life honey, and it ain't being cooped up inside of here," She slammed her drawers shut and slung her purse over her shoulder, "Have fun!"
