Never in your life had you felt more vulnerable. Especially with an unidentified man standing in front your weakening body, grinning victoriously with an evil glint in his eyes. He reached out, wrapping his disgusting hand around the hilt of a blade, which had been lodged painstakingly deep into your left hip.

It was a miracle you were still alive. Or so you thought; the magic in the sword increased the normal pain of an injury ten-fold. Your thoughts were muddled and you couldn't properly formulate a plan of action.

Especially when he pulled it out, painfully slow, twisting it in the process and causing you to writhe in pain in front of his vicious form, and falling to your knees. He smirked once more, before spitting in your face and walking away with a small bag in his hand. That left two members of his guild to deal with.

You couldn't remember. Anything. The only conclusion you could come to was to protect this object behind you, since they seemed keen on getting it in their grasp. But other than that, you had no idea the reason why you were suffering so much.

The reason your guild would suffer so much.

Except that this was your first solo S-Class mission. The one you promised that fiery dragon slayer you would return safe from.
