Chapter 4
Even though it was only 8:00, the party was already in full swing by the time we got there. The room was packed, and there were more people coming by the minute. Luckily, Aaron’s dorm room was adjacent to his best friend’s room next door, and since they were seniors, they had extra large rooms.
Aaron’s best friend’s name was Matt, and he was just like Aaron, except he wasn’t as quite as hot.
When Aaron saw Laurane and I, he made his way across the room and walked up to us, smiling.
“Hey here girls,” he said, “I’m glad that you came.” To Laurane, he said “If I see you with any boys tonight, I’m going to have to beat them up. So be careful.”
Laurane stuck her tongue out at Aaron like a five-year-old, but we all knew that he was just joking around. Aaron was always with so many girls that he couldn’t tell her to stay away from guys.
In that moment, Jesse walked up to us. “Hey Laurane,” he said, winking at her. Laurane giggled and said “Oh, hey Jesse.” They walked off together, but not before Aaron and I both gave Jesse warning glares. But Jesse wasn’t stupid. He knew what would happen if he hurt Laurane.
Aaron looked at me with a slightly worried look on his face. “Is she going to be alright with him?” he asked, concerned about his little sister. I nodded.
“Don’t worry about her. Laurane’s a big girl, and she’ll be fine,” I said, “Now come on, let’s go get some drinks.” I grabbed Aaron’s hand and lead him towards a cooler full of beers.
Aaron didn’t need any persuasion, and soon we were both sitting on his couch, with drinks in our hands.
“So,” Aaron said, “what’s new? It’s been a while since we’ve…hung out.”
In other words, he Aaron wanted to know if I had an actual boyfriend now or not.
“Not much,” I replied, “I haven’t really been out and about lately.”
I didn’t have to ask Aaron if he had gotten a girlfriend, because I knew that he didn’t. If Aaron had gotten a girlfriend recently, I would have known by now. He was so popular that everyone would have known.
I hadn’t seen Laurane since she went off with Jesse, but I assumed that she was gine. I wasn’t too worried about her, and besides, I had other things to do then babysit her.
It didn’t really take much for me to get drunk, and after a while, I was trashed. And when I was trashed, all I wanted to do was kiss Aaron. It seemed like a really good idea, and Aaron seemed to think so, too.
We sat there on the couch for a while, kissing, when someone came up to us.
“Sammi, Laurane needs you,” Mia, a girl in my grade who I liked, said. Instantly, I sat up, alert.
