Love is Magical

"Love is a type of magic that changes a person, whether for better or worse."

Hotaru never thought that a single announcement from the student council will give her the chance she needed for so long.

"Good Morning, School. I want to announce that the school will be putting up a play for the Cultural Festival. Auditions will start tomorrow, if you are interested, please do audition. That is all."

Back in class, as the sign up sheet is being passed around, Hotaru scanned through the list and saw one name that caught her attention, "Igarashi Taiga".

'Ehh, Igarashi-kun is auditioning?! And for Romeo even?!' The poor girl was in a dilemma, panicking as what to do.

Then, as undetermined as she looks, her hand started moving. Under the column for Juliet, the name "Nakano Hotaru" appeared. "Ah... What have I done?"

With a twitching eye and laughter from being close to breaking down, Hotaru announced what she had done to her best friend, Koi Asako.

"A-Asa-chan... I... I accidentally signed up... for Juliet..." Hotaru managed to squeak out.

"EHHHH?! Why did you do that, Ru-chan?!" Asako shouted.

Luckily, they were on the roof so no one else could hear their conversation clearly. Asako is Hotaru's childhood friend so she knows Hotaru very well.

"B-B-Because Igarashi-kun signed up for Romeo so my hand just..." Tears were flowing down like waterfall from Hotaru's eyes.

Asako sweat dropped before laughing in understanding. "There's nothing much you can do at this point so you would just have to go through with the audition. Whether you really want to play the part is up to you."

"I... I want to play Juliet... I don't want Juliet to be anyone else if Igarashi-kun is playing Romeo..." Her teary eyes still remains but she looked strangely determined.

And so, the day of the audition was upon them...

First part of the audition was the dress up. The only test was if you fit the role.

Just before the start, Hotaru ran into her very own Romeo, Taiga. "Nakano-san?! I'm surprised, I never expected to see you here! Good luck for the audition!"

Hotaru was flustered and started stammering but she stopped and gave a firm reply, "Igarashi-kun, good luck to you too! I hope you get the role you are aiming for!"

Taiga was surprised at her seriousness that he smiled warmly at her, "Yeah!"

All candidates goes to their respective areas to change into the play costumes.

As Hotaru emerged from the changing area, eyes followed her everywhere she goes. She looks stunning.

Hotaru, too nervous to pay any heed to the sudden attention, started styling her own hair. She chose to braid up the front of her hair and tied half of her hair up in a small bun at the back, leaving the rest of it untied.

Judging began immediately as soon as everyone finished dressing up. Hotaru made it, along with Taiga, who gave her a peace sign from afar. Hotaru blushed and gave one back.

The second part was acting and the ability to memorize lines. Each candidate auditions on their own.

"Candidate Number 8! Please enter the audition room!" A voice echoed around the room. Hotaru walked slowly, she was completely shaking from anxiousness. She took one glance at Taiga and entered the room, her fate lies in the hand of her performance today...
