It's a quiet night in the City of Lorath and Luella, a 4 months pregnant market vendor, was walking home with a basket of bread & potatoes for her family.
As she was walking, she heard footsteps following her from a distance. She stopped and turned her head back to see if someone's there. When she saw nothing but a dark ally, she turned her head and suddenly three large men appeared in front of her. The man in the middle is Byram, a bald man with golden teeth.
"Lovely evening, isn't it Luella?" Byram said with a smug.
"Uhm.. yes it is Byram" she replied perplexingly.
She then continued to walk but one of Byram's men blocked her way. She looked at him startled and then tried walking the other way but the other man blocked her.
"Please Byram, a woman needs to go. She has a husband waiting at home &--" she said nervously as she clutched onto her basket.
"Who?! That criminal?!" he mocked as he laughed with his men.
Luella was just standing there nervous of what might happened.
Byram walked closer to Luella and whispered in her ears "A woman must tell her criminal husband to pay for what he did." "He didn't do it!" she replied. He suddenly slapped her so hard that she fell on the ground.
"Pick her up! Pick her!" he ordered his men.
They picked her up, held both of her arms and faced her to the angry Byram. "The man killed one of my men." he said. "He must pay the price."
Byram punched Luella's pelvis and then walked away. She fell in the ground crying in pain as she saw blood flowing down her legs.
And then the quiet night of Lorath was disturbed with loud cries.
