Prologue
"Neh oppa..." I heard her say.
"Hmmm..." I said a little distracted.
"Did you know that a snail can sleep for as long as 3 years?" she said as proud as she can as though announcing a world shocking discovery.
"Really?" I said just to humor her.
"u-huh! oh and that when a baby panda is born it can be smaller than a mouse!!" she was getting really excited now.
"Aren't they cute..." I played along.
"oh!! Here's another one!! Did you know that goldfishes lose their color if you kept them in dim light? Their just like you and me when we don't get enough sun!" She said as she looked down on her own pale complexion.
"We musn't put them in the dark then..." I smiled at her and tousled her hair.
"Oh!! Also male koalas have two penises, and female koalas have two vaginas!!"
Now that, stopped me.
What the hell? I stood there gaping at her. Speechless.
"Where do you get these things anyway??" I asked still a little sceptical about that last little info.
"I read it on the internet! And the other ones I got while watching Nat Geo Wild... you know... on TV." she said. The innocent look never left her face.
Television these days really ought to sensor a few stuffs.
Educational yes, but seriusly, 5 year olds don't need to learn about the 'P' and 'V' word yet.
"Come on, lets go home."
I took her small hands in mine as we took our usual path home.
"Neh, oppa..." she said.
"Is it true?"
"What is?" I asked.
"Is it true that for half of their life penguins go around looking for their one true love, and that when they find it. They won't ever let go..."
"I don't really know... Did they say that on TV too?"
"..."
I looked at her and saw that she was silent.
Gone was the all too hyper little girl who was telling me about fishes and snails...
"hey..." I started to ask. Why was she so silent?
"Neh, oppa..."
"What is it?" I looked at her. I was still a bit conserned at her momentary silence that she had my full attention now.
"Would you be my penguin?"
