First day of junior year

*VANESSA POV*
Wanna know the worst part of waking up?  This loud ass alarm clock Gives me a heart attacks. Lovely. My older brother, Chris, comes banging on my door.
" aye doorknob! Turn it off!"
" shut up Chris I know already!" I get up and turn it off. Then get ready for school. First day of junior year. Only 2 years left till I get to leave hell high school. I got the same annoying friends who I love. Since freshmen year. As I finish getting ready I start to smell eggs and bacon so I go downstairs to eat since I'm starving.
"Morning," my mom said taking a double take on me. " Vanessa it's September."
" ha yea I know. First day back to hell." I said sitting at the table to eat.
"Language and your wearing all black? It's gonna be 79 degrees today."
" ha please. I'm also wearing black shorts and the shirts not even all black. See," I pulled the shirt out more for her to see. It was a finger peace sign with the American colors and black shorts with my combat black boots. "I'll be fine"
" uh huh, sure. Go change."
" what why?"
"Your not having a heat stroke on me"
" not on you in school." I mumbled.
"Vanessa change now"
"No," I said getting up with my bag and leaving " I'm fine."
Me and my mom never sees eye to eye on things. Anything. Last week I got grounded for a week just for hanging out with my boyfriend, Jake. She knows we date. So I don't really understand the problem. I heard her calling as I left but ignored and continued to walk out. I was walking to school until one of my best friends, Luke, came up to me on his bike.
"Hey 'nessa." He said to me but I kept quiet. "Haha hello?" He said again but still kept quiet. He rode and stopped right in front of me. "Mom?"
I looked down and answered yes quietly
" ha well, what happen?" I took a step back and presented the problem to him. Let's see if he could get it.
"Guess?"
"Hmm," he took a moment to answer. " is it because your too beautiful for the first day of school?" He said smiling. And that kinda improved my mood.
" haha jokes. And no she got on me about wearing black"
" but black is sexy on you" I just looked at him and continued walking to school
" whatever," I said rolling my eyes. " ooo wait someone's birthday is next week"
"Hmm, who?"
" ha your just a jokester today aren't you?" It's actually his birthday next week. He's turning 17. " what do you wanna do?"
"Paintball... No lazer tag. Oo no water tag."
"Ha could you just pick?"
" hm idk. But I would like to spend time with you."
" well you have all day to figure it out." We arrived to school at 7:45 we was actually early. " well we shall speak later Lu-" I was cut off by hugging from 2 more of my friends. Clayton and Eric. Well they were kinda more of Luke's friends then mine. "I missed you too guys haha"
Eric was the first to let go but was also the first to say something. "Aren't you hot wearing that black?" He said pointing at my clothes.
" I'm fine!" I said then walking away from them. I walk into the school and to my locker then notice their following me. " why are you following me?"
" we're following Luke. Not you black crow" Eric said walking next to Luke. My mouth dropped. Did he really just call me a black crow??
Luke looked at him. "not cool," he said then turned to me. "Forgot my locker was next to yours? It's only been 2 months."
"Kinda." It's actually how I met Luke. In the mid of freshmen year he moved here  from Canada. I may have developed a crush on him but I already have a boyfriend already so I just ignore it.
"There's my girl." Jake said coming up to me and started kissing me. He had me against the locker while doing so. He started to move his hands lower until Clayton said something. Well cleared his throat.
"We're still in school ya know"
"And?" Jake said and started to kiss me harder. Just then his friends came up.
"Ha ok Jake," he stopped and just looked in my eyes. "You know what tomorrow is right?" I said smiling.
"Ha of course I do." He moved away and went to Andy. One of his friends. " sleeping with sirens concert tomorrow night!!" And there goes my smile. As expected, by others, he forgot our one year anniversary. I quickly regained another smile.
" yea babe. That's it" Luke sucked his teeth.
"Wow" he said slamming is locker. We all looked at him as Jake went up to him.
"Problem, faggot?"
"Ok Jake. No problems" I said pulling him away. Ever since I've got with Jake last year there's been problems between Jake and Luke. I don't know what but there's something going on. " I don't want problems this year between you guys," the bell rings. "Keep it clean." I said then walking off.
A few hours later
I sit at the lunch table with Eric and his girlfriend, Aniya, eating grapes.
"So what did you guys do over the summer?"
"Traveled the states with my lovely girlfriend and my family" Eric answered. I just nodded my head.
"What did you and Jake do?" Aniya asked.
"Nothing." I mumbled looking down.
"I'm sorry what?"
" it's just anytime I suggested something he'd always say he's busy with the boys. I did hang out with him once. He forgot our anniversary."
"Isn't it tomorrow?" Eric asked drinking his soda.
"Yea but he's going to the concert with Andy."
"Some boyfriend"
"So what did you do all summer?" Aniya asked.
"I just hung with Luke. We went to different concerts. Movies. All summer. Ha we practically lived with each other."
"Ooo"
"Vanessa to be honest. You and Luke would seem like a cute couple." I hid my smile when Eric said that.
"Really? You think so?"
"Yea" I just made a small laugh hiding my blushing
"Um me and Luke is best friends. I really wouldn't want to ruin anything and make it anything else."
"Heyo!!!" Austin, another one of Luke's friends, said slamming his food on the table.
"Austin your very loud today" Luke said sitting next to me.
"And Luke your too quiet today." Clayton said then he looked at me
"Clay don't start." Luke said like a warning
"No no let 4 eyes here speak" I said looking at both of them
"Im out of this." Luke said putting his hands up.
"Ha 4 eyes. Is that the best you got, black crow?" Clayton said sitting in front of me
"No you obviously got it better. You see more then all of us 4 eyes." I said standing up. He was about to speak but I cut him off. "I'm off to study hall before lunch ends. Later." I waved bye to them then left.
Luke's pov
I basically stared at Vanessa until she left. As she leaves through the doors I turn back around and notice everyone at the table staring at me. "What?"
"Dude just ask her out" Eric said smiling.
"Ha yea. You guys would be so cute." Aniya said.
"What, ha, no. N-no she has a boyfriend already." I said.
"Yea. A fucked up one." Eric said. "Besides. I think she has feeling for you too."
I immediately smiled. "R-really?"
They all nodded. "Well how do you know?"
"Because we're not blind or stupid." Clayton said. " go ask her."
"No. Look fucked up boyfriend or not. She's still in a relationship. And not with me." I said. Then it was quiet for a while until I spoke again. "I mean ha I would be a better boyfriend for her. I would actually be there for her. Make jokes 24/7 just to hear that amazing laugh of hers. Stare in those beautiful brown eyes-"
"Study hall ends in 10 minutes if I were you i would go ask now." Aniya said. I jumped up and went to the library, where studying goes during lunch. But as I got there, I looked through the window to see if she was actually there to ask. But what I saw, I couldn't believe it.
She was shirtless while making out with Liam behind a bookcase. Probably hiding from the librarian, who was asleep. I closed my eyes, turned around and left.
After school
"Woah she was naked??" Austin asked. Me him Clayton and Eric just left the school and was walking home.
" no just shirtless."
"Damn. Sorry du-" Eric was cut off by Vanessa.
"Luke. Wrong way haha."
"Look luke is not a scarecrow. Alright black crow." Clayton said and Vanessa just stepped on his foot. "Oww"
"Shut it four eyes. Luke its Thursday. We always go to the cafe on Thursdays." That's right. Sometime last year Vanessa fell into a deep depression and we made it a tradition every Thursday we'd hang out at the cafe and just talk and chill.
" o yea Vanessa. Sorry I'm just not feeling good. Must've been the lunch. Next Thursday. Maybe? Please?"
I said hoping she won't get mad but to my surprised she stayed calm.
"Ha yea it's fine." Just then Jake came up
"Hey babba." He said kissing her forehead.
"Hey lets hang out"
He sucked his teeth. "Sorry babe I can't."
There goes her smile again.
"Aw why?"
"Me and Liam is going to play video games." Why does he have to be such a dick to his girlfriend?"
"Hey about we change the tradition to Friday's? So tomorrow?" I said hoping that'll change her mood. Can't see her sad. Can't see any girl sad tbh.
"Sure." She smiles again and walks off. As she's walking off one way Jake walks off another just staring at me and mouthed 'watch yourself'. I rolled my eyes and continued walking home.
