*beep* *beep* *beep* the sound of the alarm disrupts my peaceful slumber pulling me out of my dream and back into the world of reality. I stretch letting out a yawn before climbing out of bed and making my way down stairs to the kitchen. I should probably introduce myself, my name is Mark I am 24 and I moved out of my comfortable family home three months ago hoping to find my freedom on the other side of the country, but instead I found debt and a house that is falling to pieces. The one good thing about moving though is that I managed to get a job at a local orphanage that came with accommodation on weekdays so I would only have to stay in my rotting dump at the weekends, who knows maybe this is the first step to the freedom I've dreamt about all my life.

Pulling on my grey hoodie I walk out of the door and head towards my car. Turning the key, I look down and see the petrol light is on indicating the fuel tank is empty and I am screwed. You see to put fuel in your car, you need money and for me to get money I need to go and do my job at the orphanage, but to get to the orphanage I need my car. Vicious cycle isn't it. There's no other option I'm gonna have to walk, it'll add an extra hour onto my journey and I will be late, but at least I turned up... Right?.

Pacing quickly down the path, my feat crunching through the leaves as I go, I approach the orphanage. Upon arrival at the front of door, I am greeted by an ancient looking woman "your late" she croaks. "Um yeah I'm sorry about that" I start to explain "my car brok..." Before I could finish my explanation the woman interrupted me "I don't care for excuses, just come in and I'll give you a key" she turned around a slowly stepped towards her office, I follow her embarrassed and  ashamed.
