PROLOGUE

       "We must leave, Bird!"

"No, never! I didn't know you would give up so easily."

"Why can't we?"

"We'll look weak..." The two arguing cats glared at eachother.

"We need other cats' help, are you saying we can't because you have too much pride?"

"No! But maybe... If we could just move a litte ways away from the... the..." The calico's voice faltered.

"You can't. Think about the kits, think about Fox!"

"I'm the one who decides our kit's future!" She growled.

"Fox?" The tom mewed desperately. He had to get his mate to redecide and accept help!

"Fox is old enough to take care of herself."

"Fine. I'm leaving. I get the kits. I bet you don't care a bit about them!"

"No! You can't take them! I want one of them-"

"No. They'll all fare better in the Clans. That';s where I'm going."

"Goodbye." The she-cat mewed, icily.
